Blood stains are still visible on the sidewalk at the corner of Flower Street and Palm Drive, where a Bakersfield man struggled with as many as nine officers and later died this week.
David Sal Silva, 33 and the father of four young children, died early Wednesday morning after deputies say he fought with them and CHP officers who'd responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated man outside Kern Medical Center.

The country has changed and not in a good way. It is truly sad to witness.
My encounters with them have been when reporting a hit-and-run on a motorcyclist I witnessed while I was walking to vote, reporting another hit-and-run on my own parked car and while riding my bike home from a fast food restaurant. Each time there was nothing they could do about the crimes, but for some reason I was the one being questioned like I was the perp. Even when stopped on my bicycle they were demanding my social security number "to make sure you don't have any warrants" and making sure I "had no weapons for our safety". Hey, got nothing to hide, why worry, right?
Police don't prevent crime and it doesn't seem like they care to solve them either. Small towns might be different where people know each other and they are still Peace Officers, but in any big city in America, I'll steer clear, thanks. Well, they did at least notify me when my two stolen cars were found, I guess I can give them credit for that.
But it was made crystal clear when those two young cops were questioning me about my bike that they were fishing for anything they could find to charge me with. See, I was just a criminal that had yet to be discovered.

I usually trace it to Roe vs Wade. But, it might go further back than that.
Tomorrow, we are going to be treated to countless stories of "heroic" mothers making the "sacrifice" of spending Mother's Day @ war while their infant children grow up motherless. And we accept this.
So, I think we're seeing the fruits of 100 years of the state's war on the family and faith.

I have argued that in the years to come, the Roe decision will be viewed as one of the worst, if not the single worst, decision ever delivered by the US Supreme Court.

Can’t do that today, Lawyers would lose too much money on drunk driving cases and Madd Mothers would crap all over themselves.
Police are like anyone else. There are good and bad.
The one thing they all have in common is once they are on the force they become an entity apart from normal Human beings. They no longer trust the rest of us, they only trust each other.
The authority they have is used like a baton, anything is considered an act of disrespect, Any time you question their authority in any manner it is considered resistance. Even taking their picture is considered disrespect. Yet they tell you when they pull you over that you are being recorded both audibly and visually. While a police officer has you in their power at a stop, it is expected for you to be completely subservient. There can be no other way or you face arrest.
It is apparent that they expect respect without giving any.
When you go to traffic Court your testimony means nothing unless you can prove yourself innocent. Just the opposite of a Civil Court. Judges just assume the cop wouldn’t lie, but you would.
It’s the system.
I actually did, because I had yet to have my eyes opened. They made it clear that I couldn't refuse and when they rest their hands on their guns, it really brings a sense of authority over you, especially when the second set of cops pulled up behind them. As it turns out they lied! Surprise! Of course they found nothing, and the fact that I was under no obligation to give them so much as my name really cinched it for me. (insert "You can't expect them to tell criminals that they don't have to talk to police, do you?" comment here)
The thing about the other cases is that I gave them a description of the perps, car and a license plate number. Response: "That's probably a rental and they're long gone." Dude! That was fifteen minutes ago! Maybe I should be glad they showed up even that quickly.
Morals have been deteriorating with the spiritual state of our society, and the scum is scummier than ever now (even most crooks had some gospel acknowledgment at one point). That acknowledged, the filth is also clearly carrying over to the “boys in blue” and truly it is even on display now with Willers’ personal attacks.
I haven’t been put in that position yet but I hope that if I do I could stick up for my rights, but, as you said, they can be intimidating. Makes you wonder what is worth dying over, especially when the cops report that you were obstructing justice or some other crap.
Sometimes the charges really are fishing expeditions, in the feeble hope that a court might find some reason to inquire into what the person in question was doing. Morals are going to hell in general and this is one facet of it.
Another personal attack. You clearly display the problem which is overwhelming society as we speak.
