The man who is being hailed as a hero for rescuing the lives of three women kidnapped for a decade says that he would like any reward money to be turned over to the victims.
Charles Ramsey became an instant Internet sensation on Monday when he helped free Amanda Berry, Georgina DeJesus and Michele Knight from the house next to his where they had been trapped for around 10 years.
Bro, I knew something was wrong when a little, pretty white girl ran into a black mans arms, he told WEWS following the rescue. Something is wrong here. Dead giveaway.
On Tuesday, CNN host Anderson Cooper asked Ramsey what it felt like to find out that he had been living next to kidnapping victims.
See, thats why now Im having trouble sleeping, he explained. See, up until yesterday, the only thing that kept me from losing sleep was the lack of money. See what Im saying? So now that thats going on, and I could have done this last year, not this hero stuff, just do the right thing.
Because theres a lot of people, theyre saying youre a hero, the CNN host noted.
No, no, no. Bro, Im a Christian, an American, and just like you, Ramsey insisted. We bleed the same blood, put our pants on the same way. Its just that you got to put that being a coward and 'I dont want to get in nobodys business,' you got to put that away for a minute. You have to have cojones, bro.
Cooper noted that the FBI had offered a reward for at least two of the victims.

I tell you what you do, give it to them, Ramsey said. Because if folks been following this case since last night, you been following me since last night, you know I got a job anyway.
Just went picked it up ... this paycheck, he added, producing an envelope from his pocket. What that address say?

One of the funniest videos in history.
He’s alright.
I thought he did time for spousal abuse? Also, isn’t there a story that another neighbor actually kicked the door in? I’m reminded of the homeless “radio voice” guy from last year.
I don’t care about what the bottom feeders are saying or repeating.
“dead giveway”

Yep. Felony spousal abuse. Maybe he’s on the right track, now.
“I thought he did time for spousal abuse?”
G-d uses all sorts of people.
Generally he uses really flawed ones, just to show what kind of G-d he is.
Yes he is. On that day, he stepped up and did the right thing, when it was so much easier to look away and pretend that everything was OK.
Is he perfect? No. But he did the right thing, and that's all that matters here.
There’s a cemetery directly behind the houses across the street. That would be the perfect place to bury the babies and any other victims.
Agreed. Texas could adopt a guy like him.
His heart is in the right place and he is funny.
Winner.
Amen!
Amen again!
One of the best men I know did probably 30 years in prison over the course of his lifetime for dealing drugs.
Today he speaks at local inner city churches about building families and finding self worth outside what the media deems acceptable for blacks.
It’s called redemption. I’m a firm believer in redemption.
Generally he uses really flawed ones, just to show what kind of G-d he is.
G-d uses imperfect people to show His perfection and do His work for His glory. Why? To show His grace toward people.
Now maybe thes person has truly repented and turned his life. And this is the Lord’s way of blessing this person.
Watching this brought tears to my eyes.
Owes back child support, I think.
