Ted Cruzs address at the annual South Carolina Republican Party dinner Friday helped feed growing speculation that the freshman senator from Texas is eyeing a run for the White House in 2016 and raised yet another round of questions about his eligibility to serve in the Oval Office.
Mr. Cruz was born in Canada to an American-born mother and Cuban-born father, and was a citizen from birth but that Canadian factor puts him in the company of other past candidates who have had their eligibility questioned because of the Constitutions requirement that a president be a natural born citizen.

Haha.
Go Ted. :D
He not eligible because he’s not a NBC so why do they keep bringing it up? Interesting how the msm is getting antsy about Cruz this far out when they totally ignored hussein’s lack of eligibility.
I don’t think Senator Cruz will run in 2016( I started working for his Senate election in Feb 2011)
but it is really funnyto see all the Dems all wee wee’d up ovcer him.
He will run someday but in the meantime let the haters wase all their anger on MY Senator. There will be nothing left for the others
Was his father an American citizen at the time of his birth? Was either of his parents a citizen of Canada?
Compared to the current occupant of the Whie House, Cruz’s ancestors came over on the Mayflower.
Amazing what the media can find out about eligibility when they are motivated to do so.
Yes, funny, and actually legally significant. Precedence is very important legal factor in our system, and the one set by Obama means that Cruz, Rubio, etc, are no problem whatsoever. Not saying that's right or wrong, just saying it is.....
Considering that most Canadians sort of consider themselves semi-Americans, give him a chance.
The Scab Pickers are always with us...
“He not eligible because hes not a NBC so why do they keep bringing it up?”
I agree with you... He’s not a natural born citizen. Obama isn’t either IMHO and should be thrown in jail for it. We can’t afford as a nation to change the Constitution just because the usurper seems to have gotten away with it.
A citizen at the time of adoption of the Constitution? No. Nobody alive today is.
A naturalized citizen? No. He was a citizen at birth.
A natural born citizen? Yes. The Constitution only has three categories of citizenship - and Cruz is not either of the other two.
Precedence has been established.
He will be okay once he shows his Kenyan birth certificate.
This.
he is more American than Obama, and that’s good enough for me.
agreed.
I’d much rather see him serve a couple of decades as a valuable CONSERVATIVE senator.
