I really think this is being blown way out of proportion by Breitbart.

Yea, too bad they exposed the Pentagon getting courtmartial advice from a guy like this:

So you are good with hiding all of this from the public, and the posters here at Free Republic? And do you agree with the anti-Christian extreamist's statements?

I've not seen chaplains proselytize, actually. They hold religious services, they are more than willing to talk to Soldiers who come to them, but I've not seen Chaplains try to "recruit" for their particular flavor of religion.

Dear Timber: It is not the US MILITARY it is the civilian leadership. Thats is a huge difference. I’m telling you this has been military policy (for good reason) for decades. Just because some anti-Christian nut who undoubtedly loves Obama said some stuff doesn’t mean anyone’s taking him remotely seriously. Obama may even want such policies implemented, but until he burns the Constitution and a whole stack of Bibles on live TV, it ain’t gonna happen.

As to why such regs are put in place, I have no clue. Ask Congress, they’re the kings of implementing unenforceable rules.
