Alan Gendreau is just another ex-college football player trying to get onto a National Football League roster.
Except for one thing: Hes openly gay.
Gendreau kicked for Middle Tennessee State from 2008-2011, and he did so exceptionally well. The all-time leading scorer in Sun Belt Conference history, the Apopka, Fla., native amassed 295 points in his career at Murfreesboro.
The 23-year-old, who has been openly gay since he was 15 years old, wasnt drafted last year and never caught on with an organization.
Hes not about to let his dream die, however. In fact, the former college star thinks hes more prepared now than ever.

He started as a Tight End, but moved to Wide Receiver before he settled on kicking.
Laces to the outside. That’s all I’m going to say on the subject.
probably because his hasn’t been since he was 15.
a gay kicker? well, shave my arms and call me alfred.
Butt..butt..butt....
Sad thing is, he’ll likely be accepted more enthusiastically than Tim Tebow.
Never happen. Hope he got a degree while went to college.
The second law of homosexuality applies here.
Probably LGBT Studies.
RE: “So ... does this individuals obsessive interest in perverted sex acts improve his ability to kick a football through the goalposts?”
No idea. Does yours ?
He won’t make it. Unfortunately for libtards, the recent statements by that black athlete (can’t remember his name) represent the widespread views of many in the sporting world, even if they hide it. They don’t want to be around this.
These people should audition for Glee. Not the NFL.
This guy kicks people who are openly gay! How does he get away with that?
If he can put in between the Uprights, he will have a job.
No, you don't have any ideas. You probably don't have a clue, either.
Sad.
Go back to DU.
I think it will go badly when some black player calls him out. The media will have to choose a side.
