WASHINGTON Sen. Rand Paul is calling for conservatives to embrace the cause of immigration reform, outlining a proposal that would grant some form of legal status to the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants after the federal government has certified that the border is secure.
Pauls proposal, outlined in a speech to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Washington on Tuesday, carefully avoided the term citizenship. Instead, the Kentucky senator said he sought a middle ground that would include a multi-year process of granting visas to undocumented workers that would hinge on the annual verification of the security of the U.S.-Mexico border.
Paul echoed the key finding of an internal review from the Republican National Committee that called for the party to recast its image in order to attract minority voters, saying the GOP must change the perception of the party as anti-immigrant.
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration.

Dont ever talk about being against a growing and increasingly intrusive government again, Rand, because “immigration reform” aka amnesty will guarantee up to 50 million new democrats & customers of the state.

outlining a proposal that would grant some form of legal status to the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants 11 million in California? Or nationwide? Other estimates put it 20,000,000-40,000,000. Shouldn't we debate using the real numbers?
It's like how the low information voters believe 24% of the population is homosexual so therefore their agenda items are pressing matters.

to embrace the cause of immigration reform
Embrace the cause?
The cause is open borders that the FED continues to be lax in securing.
The cause is failure of the FED to enforce EXISTING laws.
The cause is politicians more interested in representing illegals than in representing their constituents.
The cause is politicians who are getting some kind of payback for ignoring the 70% of Americans opposed to amnesty for illegals.
Support a new shell game bunch of laws that will have securing the border dumped in the trash can 5 minutes after it passes?
Senator Paul, you, like Senator Rubio, are either naive or you are in on the shell game. What do you get out of this legislation, Sentor?

To paraphrase Michelle Malkin, why does immigration reform have to be tied to the government’s Constitutional duty to control our boarders?

Close and secure the border, and oh yeah shut the F*** up until you get that done! No citizenship for illegal boarder crossers, only an Idiot or traitor rewards invaders!

A “certication” is just as good as 3 parallel chain-link fences infilled with razor wire!
Will Clueless Napolitano tell us our border is the “safest ever” before or after the Amnesty Bill is signed?

Gee, you’d think that Rubio and Rand would hold off on their appeasing and horribly fatalistic assessments about what to do about an illegal alien problem here that is ALREA
DY covered by dozens of laws already on the books that aren’t being enforced by our enemy, Obama.
Yeah, just join him why don’t you, Marco and Rand? If you two had any actual foresight into the next national election, let alone what your surrender-like attitude for our national sovereignty will do, you’d probably wait a year or two. But, me? I’m glad you two did it now.
Glad that I won’t have to be strung along with your fake conservative bullshit and excuses and all just to find out in 2015 YOU, like McCain and Romney and whoever else thinks hispanics are the key to winning, to get pissed off and have nowhere to go. Rest assured, neither one of you two effers will get a dime from me - or my vote should that opportunity arise.

Rand’s 5 minutes are over.
To: SoConPubbie
No. No new laws. We already have all the laws in place, and nobody enforcing them. What is the point of new laws?
Rubio and Paul and others never clearly explained that.
