Boy Scouts’ Board Recommends Allowing Gay Scouts But Not Gay Leaders

The governing board of the Boy Scouts of America on Friday recommended ending the organization’s ban on openly gay Scouts but keeping its prohibition on gay troop leaders. The proposal displeased advocates on both sides and ensured a new flurry of lobbying before the larger national body votes on the matter at its annual meeting next month.
The executive committee’s resolution follows a year of shifting signals from the massive youth organization as it tries to finds its place in a nation where views on homosexuality are changing fast but remain polarized. Last summer, the group reaffirmed its ban on openly gay Scouts and leaders; then, in February, it said it was revisiting the subject amid pressure from some board members, corporate sponsors and families. Polling from the organization released Friday showed deep division remains in the Scouting community.

“While perspectives and opinions vary significantly, parents, adults in the Scouting community, and teens alike tend to agree that youth should not be denied the benefits of Scouting,” the committee, headquartered in Texas, said in a statement. The resolution states that sexual activity by any youth “of Scouting age is contrary to the virtues of Scouting.”

Yeah, I mean really. Think about it. The BS of America are saying that they see absolutely nothing wrong with boys, who like boys sexually, to sleep and shower together with boys. So, how in the frick is that any different than seeing nothing wrong with boys, who like like girls, sleep and shower together with girls???

As if 16-year olds do not hit on younger kids. So what happens if the younger guy complains?
How many lawsuits will Boy Scouts receive because Johnny Gayboy was passed over for leadership positions "because of his gayness"?
How are the other scouts going to feel about being forced to bunk with Gayboy?
Will he feel discriminated against because he has to tent by himself because of his condition?
Do the Boy Scouts really want to deal with this or is it just Nobama's butt-buddies on the board who think it all is just hunky-dory?

It’s almost as if the governing board is trying to follow in the footsteps of Justice Taney here. That is to say, it seems to me the board is offering a bad solution in the hopes that it will settle the bigger issue and make the controversy surrounding it go away. It won’t.
While I’m not always the biggest fan of Rush, he’s absolutely right about one thing; the left never stops pushing until they get what they want, and *everything* they want. All this recommendation has done is antagonize supporters of the BSA’s traditions. The folks who want the gay ban completely overturned will continue to push for it. Some on that side might even see it as a small victory, in the sense that the door, if not fully opened, is at least ajar, so to speak.
Just had that same argument with a commie yesterday.
If their concern was the right of free association, there is currently nothing stopping them from founding their own organization, creating their own charter with the "values" they choose, and soliciting parents and members who support their charter. That is not what they want.
They want an existing organization to "change" its values according to their dictates. They want to deprive others of their right to free association. They "hate" that others have rights at all, as individuals or groups.
Then there is the issue of existing assets. Gazillions in real estate have been bequeathed over the years to the Boy Scouts for camps and such, just waiting to be pilfered. Lots of it has already been pilfered; but that is icing on the cake.
They are just following Gramsci's "long march through the institutions". Scouting is about the last holdout against the commies. They already control the schools, churches, colleges, bureaucracies, corporations, and just about every non-profit organization.
