This is happening more and more. There is an accident with fatalities on a major highway near me and they shut down the entire freakin highway for hours. There is a protest in the city and the police shut down blocks around it. I appreciate that the police have a hard job and are trying to protect the population, but it is overkill.
this will be used to have more camera’s more spying on us now but then again the Govt and the Obama regime lets in more illegals and third world country immigrants
I suspect it’s lawyers that make a lot of the rules related to incidents like that — and maybe public officials making sure they never have to explain why they didn’t do so-and-so in response to an incident.

As far as fatal accidents go; the issue with them is the liability of lawsuits against the State or other agency and all other lawsuits that possibly could be filed means a major investigation must take place at the scene of major car accidents. Back in the day it was a matter of loading up victims in ambulances and wreckers clearing the road, accident would be cleared in no time. Another issue is even if part of the road could remain open it has to be closed as well because many people are too stupid to navigate through without causing more accidents or running over emergency personnel. Lookie-loos cause issues even in oncoming lanes as well.
