MIT issued an emergency alert at 10:48 on Thursday night reporting shots fired on the university campus. The school newspaper reports, "Shots fired near 32 Vassar St (Stata Center), police officer down. Please stay inside." That report is backed up by CBS News's Bonney Kapp who reports hearing "officer down" on the police scanner just before the MIT alert went out. For now, details are scarce, but the suspect is on the loose and considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Yeah, it sounds incredibly unbelievable to me that these mrons would rob a 7-11, shoot a police officer, and hijack a car when they know they are wanted and that would draw attention to them. Honestly, if this is them, I shocked that they would stay in Boston. I would have thought they would have been long gone, likely to another country. Perhaps they didn’t have the funds. If so, that shows how little forethought they put into this.

CNN reporting a second person in cuffs at the same location as the naked guy. No one is clear if these are suspects or just idiots who did stupid things with a billion police to witness.

Honestly, if even half of what has been reported here isn’t exaggerated in the fog of war, I don’t see how only two guys could do all of this.

Just read on twitter that suspect number two is the one that was reported missing a few months ago..the story was posted on the thread today
we don’t think the guy they keep showing on the ground is one of the 2 Marathon guys....seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time best we could tell. Suspect 1 was already caught and suspect 2 is still loose.
I was reading about that guy today! He went missing in Mid March... i thought he looked like Suspect 2 when i saw the story today. Wow.

Based on all the info coming across the scanners...I don’t see how this could just be two guys either..
That's weird. Fox News is reporting that Watertown is on lockdown with massive police action underway.
Maybe they never expected to be identified so quickly and so well. Maybe they didn’t want to run because they thought about roadblocks, airport checks, etc. and figured it was better to hide out “in plain sight”.
Although it still seems strange they hung around there.
FBI just saying (per FOX) that the suspect in custody is NOT a Marathon bomber.
