MIT issued an emergency alert at 10:48 on Thursday night reporting shots fired on the university campus. The school newspaper reports, "Shots fired near 32 Vassar St (Stata Center), police officer down. Please stay inside." That report is backed up by CBS News's Bonney Kapp who reports hearing "officer down" on the police scanner just before the MIT alert went out. For now, details are scarce, but the suspect is on the loose and considered armed and extremely dangerous.

A good day!! A great thread...
Yes indeed. Now maybe we will get down to work and clean up our country so this won’t happen again.
I really fell in love with Boston when I saw that.
I plan to put it right next to the one from NPR.
Hate to dampen, but Obama to speak soon, this I got hear. /s
ROFL! I can't wait.
Tweet: The BelloBlotter....Bombing suspect taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston
Wow.
Watched the whole thing from in bed and as soon as the ambulance drove away, passed out cold. Just woke up and it all seems so surreal.
Missed the aftermath. Did obama take credit for it yet?
Glad you got some sleep. I didn’t watch Obama’s presser...I did see someone post that he used the word I, my and mine about a zillion times though.
Right back at ya! Glad we were all together to ‘share’ ~
Thanks for the bump.
Same thing here...out cold. Did lay there and listen to the briefing and noticed that none of the speakers did the liberal politicized thanking of the president thing that I heard. A refreshing change IMHO. I guess Elizabeth Warren did not get the smoke signal to be at the pow wow....lol.
I am astonished the perp is alive! I pray we can get to the bottom of the whole thing.
Here you go... Guy on MSNBC that announced yesterday they were Turkey (and/or) Czech nationals must have got his info from a blog. (re the thread linked below) He was reading from notes when he said it live on TV. I was repeating what they said on MSNBC at the time.

The other night I jumped between this thread and this tweeter - Seth Mnookin
How times have changed from the olden days reading FR on dial-up. You guys did a great job!
Thank you for the link and all of your hard work in the thread. I will check it out. Watching the Glenn Beck radio program right now from Friday.i highly recommend my fellow FReepers watch it. It is time to wake back up to the Islamists in our midst. Most Freepers know full well what is going on, but this program is must see IMHO.
How in the world did two perps haul and load all of the pipe and pressure cooker bombs and weapons into a hijacked vehicle--after robbing a convenience store and killing a cop? Bombs which were subsequently tossed out of the vehicle during the ensuing police chase?
I’ve wondered all along that the person driving that car was a friend or an acquaintance of the brothers. You hear nothing about the owner of that car.
1. He wasn't killed.
2. Conflicting stories about whether they let him go, or he escaped at the gas station.
3. The perps used his debit card to get cash (apparently after he was out of the vehicle).
Interesting map. How did the perps get from point 2(killing the MIT cop) to the place where they hijack the Mercedes? Looks like a good distance. Did they ditch the car they had near where they hijacked the Mercedes? Have the cops located that car? If they had their own car leading into the hijacked car, they could have quickly loaded the arsenal from original car to hijacked SUV.
Authorities said after the shooting, the two men rode off
in a stolen police vehicle, then carjacked a man in a
Mercedes-Benz
Multiple stories describe the MIT cop was found in his vehicle. If this story is accurate, whose police car did they steal? This is getting more confusing.
