Looks photoshopped to me too. Zoom in on the guy’s head and you can see the pixel halo that’s not around anyone else. Also there’s an unnatural blob at the back of his neck.
I wouldn’t know how to sleuth such a thing, but maybe someone here knows how.
It doesn’t look like he’s carrying a back pack here.

if you expand beyond his head to the girls in the foreground, you’ll notice they pixelate too when the area is enlarged.
who took this image exactly? I think everyone who took photos and video should comb over it? It will be easy to spot them in pics video now that everyone knows what to look for.

My nephew is remote control hobbyist and says the battery, spark plug wires and circuit board are the complete ignitor system out of a remote-controlled, internal-combustion-engine toy car.
That would explain a remote control trigger rather than tricky and complex cell phone signals, or a hard to be precise timer. The spark plug just gets buried in black powder, push a button on the remote and kaboom. Black hat sets his off, then white hat detonates and everybody runs away.
Looking at their faces, ethnicity, hmmmm. I’ve been chasing all flavors of jihadists for over 10 years. I’m not sure what they are, but I’m pretty sure what they are not.
In my opinion, they are not Saudi’s, Pakistanis, Indonesians, Turks, Algerians or Africans of any kind, or Afghani’s of any kind. I’ve lived with Iranians, Egyptians and Yemeni’s, the suspects are not any of them.
Black hat might be Indian or Palestinian, can’t see enough of his face but he is stockier than Indians.
White hat looks Palestinian or Lebanese.
Just my opinion. Palestinian makes sense in many ways.
