A modern David Jewell. Accuse first, check later.

Close: The hero of Olympic Park was Richard Jewell.

“Close: The hero of Olympic Park was Richard Jewell.”

You’re right. Thanks.

No harm, no foul. This is the Internet Age, like it or not. There are people out there with the brains and technology to do the work once limited to law enforcement and intelligence agencies. They are sleuths in pajamas. Also, like it or not, racial and gender profiling is absolutely crucial to crime solving, and it cuts many ways. For example, 99% of the people found guilty of spying on behalf of the Russians are white males. So when one of our intel services suspects that there may be a mole in one of our services, they don’t focus on blacks, or Arabs, or women. They focus almost reflexively on white males. To do otherwise would be a waste of time and resources. And I don’t hear any liberals squawking about racial profiling in these cases. The same with terrorism or inner-city convenience-store robberies. The preponderance of these crimes is committed by non-caucasians. To focus on white males would be stupid.

Why would he know about the plot? I could pick a random person off the street by your logic and hold them because they “might know about the plot”. Should they round up every person of middle eastern origin in Boston and hold them because they “might now about the plot”?

Richard Jewell, poor guy.

Originally hailed as hero, then botched investigation by officials, lived under a suspicious cloud till his death.

How can you prove a negative? I believe in America we are innocent until proven guilty.

He took off the pack, so he could take off his hoodie, because the black hoodie was too hot in the sun.

Here you can see him earlier with the pack on over the hoodie. The Hoodie has very large lettering over the front.

We don’t see this hoodie in the crowd pic. He’s not wearing it.

He is clearly wearing the pack later, in the pic where the NYP claims he is not wearing it. This is the photo where the Post says he isn’t wearing the pack, but he clearly still has it on.

http://www.nypost.com/rw/nypost/2013/04/18/news/web_photos/18.1n004.boston2.C—300x300.jpg

Besides all that, the guy was already cleared before the NY Post story. It was posted in lots of places, including several times here at FR.

No matter how many freepers tried to point this out, it was ignored by many.

Now even the NYP finally says the runner and the coach are in the clear.

I guess it still won’t matter though. Gotta point the finger at someone...never admit an error. Just drive on and play it off later.

To heck with the trouble the accused get into over false stories. It’s their problem, right?

Not true. There is more than logic involved here. There is probability.

There is a greater probability that a young male Saudi would be involved in a terrorist plot against us, than "a random person off the street." And there's a FAR greater probably that a young male Saudi whose family has ties to terrorist groups might "know about the plot"...

The teen in this article is not the guy being deported.
That’s another guy, there’s a picture of the soon to be deported dude at the hospital with a Saudi diplomat. Different guy.

But I think the web is doing a great job of identifying potential suspects. Let’s just be sure to let the investigation run it’s course before we convict.

No he isn’t. You re confusing two people. This 17 yr old is Morrocan. The deportee is Saudi, and college age, and looks completely different. The deportee is still in the hospital. This kid was not injured.

What “probability”? Did you read the article? Where does it say the kid is Saudi? And who said his family had “ties to terrorist groups”? You enjoy just making stuff up?

Then who was his friend with the black coat and backpack? And where is he now?

Why are you so belligerent? Are you a Saudi?

Hey look, for probability, take the number of Saudis who have been involved in terror attacks on the USA, in the last 20 years. (Don't forget that to include that special little date, 9/11/2001).

Then take the number of terrorists who have attacked America in the last 20 years who were of some ordinary American background, like the "random man off the street" you suggested would be just as likely to be the attacker by my "logic" (say, someone of English-Irish-Italian-German ancestry).

Now compare those two numbers ... there's your probability.

Oh and for your second challenge, it was Walid Shoebat "said his family had ties to terrorist groups."

I gave you a link to Shoebat's article in my post.
