BOSTON (AP) -- In what could be major break in the Boston Marathon case, investigators are on the hunt for a man seen in a department store surveillance video dropping off a bag at the site of the bombings, a local politician said Wednesday.
Separately, a law enforcement official confirmed that authorities have found an image of a potential suspect but don't know his name.
The development - less than 48 hours after the attack, which left three people dead and more than 170 wounded - marked a possible turning point in a case that has investigators analyzing photos and videos frame by frame for clues to who carried out the twin bombings and why.
City Council President Stephen Murphy, who said he was briefed by Boston police, said investigators saw the image on surveillance footage they got from a department store near the finish line and matched the findings with witness descriptions of someone leaving the scene.

University of Mobile’s Cross Country Coach, who was near the finish line of the Boston Marathon when a series of explosions went off, said he thought it was odd there were bomb sniffing dogs at the start and finish lines.
“They kept making announcements to the participants do not worry, it’s just a training exercise,” Coach Ali Stevenson told Local 15.
IF the guy in the blue is one of the perps: Nice job looking inconspicuous you jackass. Way to make yourself stand out in a crowd tough guy. You are not only a freaking coward, but also a freaking idiot!

Did you hear Hannity just now? The Saudi i. The news yesterday is undergoing an emergency national security deportation? WTF? Yesterday someone posted pics from his facebook and he appeared to be connected to the royal family; wearing the traditional white turban of the royal family. I’ll dig for that.
The guy in the white hat is with the guy in blue, next to him. Both have bags. Guy in blue is clearly talking with guy in white hat in one of the pictures. Backpack bag with guy in white hat has bulge that could easily be pressure cooker. Bag on guy in blue is large duffel, and could easily contain another pressure cooker. Both should be suspects until ruled out by facts, in my law enforcement trained brain.
I doubt they have nothing. It was the most heavily photographed place on earth that day. Hundreds of street cameras, thousands of cell phones cameras, News Crews, and hundreds of regular cameras. It would be impossible to have nothing.
In the second one, I think the guy in BLUE has the bag. Look at the black straps on his shoulders. They don’t show up in the first picture.
Bag no bag... That’s them.
There is another photo that shows someone who looks an awful lot like this guy, but without the white hat, placing what looks like a black backpack over the guard rail right on the side of the mail box where the 2nd bomb went off. I’m going to see if I can find that one again.
Both of those dudes look like they are followers of allah..
The perps could be any persons, any govt.
The urgent Saudi meeting is a legitimate response to the initial reports of a Saudi perp. Given the Saudi angle on 9-11, such urgency makes sense regardless of any actual involvement.
My greatest concern is we’re told the truth, and regrettably, I’m not certain the truth will be forthcoming.

I got confused since one of the guys in the white is a white guy with a hat..but as you scroll down you see the guys depicted in the photos here and you can see their face clearly, clearly of arab decent
If these two are the ones, they have confederates who would have assisted in pulling this off.
Going out on a limb here. These two guys in the pictures are already dead. Killed by those higher up in their org. I have a feeling that there are going to be a lot of dead ME men in the coming days. Don’t want any of this leading back to the national leader who is behind this bombing.
Scary part. we could be any of those folks standing 6 iches from some terrorists with bombs.

Here you go look all the way on the right. At first it looks like there is a person with a blue sleeve reaching over, but just past that blue object is the man I’m talking about, bending down right above the guard rail. Black sleeve arm is extended over and the black backpack can just be seen where the screen starts to turn blue. What do you think?
What the hell did they just say on Hannity’s show. A guest just said first “person of interest” will be deported Tuesday by ICE on the grounds of “National Security”. They are speculating that he may have diplomatic status by/via his relations. I guess we know why Kerry met with a Saudi Yesterday and why Today Obama met with the Saudi finance minister who is a prince.
Bet they throw that kid a party back home and this thing goes unsolved.
