You can tell by how the media is REFUSING to speculate on who did it, that it was Middle-Eastern. It doesn’t fit the MediaMatters-approved agenda, and might make a Democrat look bad.

1) Oviously the bomb squad was blowing up suspicious items that turned out not to be bombs, but the RUMINT that the press was relying on either was twisted around in transmit, or the press didn't understand, and that was the source of the false reports.

2) Or it's evidence of an elaborate conspiracy. I happen to have more than one functioning brain cell, so I vote 1).

People constantly talk about how the press is incompetent here, but when the press botches early information in a breaking story, I don't understand how that's never blamed on press incompetence.
