Washington (CNN) Supporters of a bipartisan compromise to expand background checks for guns sales currently don't have the 60 votes they will need to win approval of their amendment so a vote on the proposal - which was expected midweek - is unlikely before the end of the week, Sen. Joe Manchin, D-West Virginia, told CNN in an exclusive interview Monday.
The vote is being pushed back so Manchin and others can build support for the controversial plan.

OK everyone, let’s get ahold of all those Senators and defeat this dangerous krap right NOW!
I vote NOW that we throw them out( traitors) today!
Keep calling and E-mailing... Keep the pressure up... We can stop this awful bill.....
I don’t think the horrific events at the marathon are going to help get the bill passed.
If anything these events prove the futility of trying to prevent violence by regulating inanimate objects.
We are a nation that condones the extermination of the unborn and celebrates sodomy all the while spitting in the face of Israel.
Are we seriously to expect God to protect and bless America in these times?
That’s a rhetorical question of course.
Graham doesn't even fight like a girl, he had to wait until Sarah took the lead.
Agree, this is going to put a cork in the assault weapons ban. Now everyone is going to want one.
For those wondering, Sarah is shooting a KNOXX stocked 12 ga. in that picture. It eliminates almost all the felt recoil, and makes the 12 an option for any who can carry the weight.
If he did it's because the bill doesn't go far enough towards stripping the law-abiding of the means to defend themselves.
I emailed both of my Senators and told them I was onto their frigging RINO tricks. Both voted against the bill a couple of days ago that would have allowed a filibuster.
Both of these effing RINOs will now vote against this bill, but it will pass the Senate, and these two will come home and tell us “we voted against gun rights infringement.”
They had a chance and they refused to stand up to the convictions of their youth, having become accustomed to power and wealth.
I can’t do anything about Chamblis now other than call him a traitor (which I did) and swear not to vote for anyone he endorses. I told Isakson that I’d fight with all my might to keep him from getting re-elected, by helping his primary opponent, and/or voting for his Democrat opponent if need be. A traitor, two traitors, in our midst are worse than a known enemy at our front.
They want to wait and see if they need to have background checks on all white ‘terrorists’.
don’t push it back, kill it
now they’re fishing for info to bribe others or enough votes to screw us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly!
It takes time to blackmail and bribe Senators. They will simply delay the vote until all DNC weapons are brought to bear.
