Our youngest son, age 42, ran the Marathon this morning. I’ve been in near panic since I heard the news. We finally were able to reach David a few moments ago. He had already finished the Marathon and was in a nearby bar celebrating, when they felt and heard the explosions. I won’t go into detail about what he saw and experienced.

Now, I need a wee glass of wine.

Someone said the marathon was being run in honor of the victims of the Newtown massacre and some families were apparently watching from near the finish line, does anyone know about this?

Correlation does not equal causation.
The simplest answer is usually the most right answer: I.E. if you first suspect muslim terrorism it probably is muslim terrorism.

Yes. They also showed a man whose leg was dangling from the knee. It looked like it was about to fall off. Some of the images are extremely disturbing.

One of the videos posted here shows the explosion coming from the right and a runner crumpling to the ground as if he was hit with shrapnel or something.

Having run in long road races like this I know what it is like to be that close to the finish line. Every part of your body is screaming to stop and rest and you are in a state of euphoria that it is about to be over. I cannot imagine adding this to the experience.
