Ask marktwain, our resident gun-expert. He will tell you, this bill is pretty damned good for our side.

It it has a "universal background check" in it, it gives them everything they need to register every gun owner and gun.

Next step, rounding them all up.

With all due respect, there is no one on this planet more expert than I with respect to MY gun rights affirmed by the Second Amendment, NONE!

I thought it included the Coburn amendment. So far it does not. We really need to dig into the details. I am skeptical of anything that keeps records of private sales background checks. It appears that we are getting some positive things in this bill.

Include the Coburn amendment, and I could support it.

Thank you for the compliment, Laz. I may have been a little premature about this bill. Gottlieb is saying that it has a great deal for us, and he is pretty sharp. Any deal must include careful scrutiny of the details. The Coburn amendment is a must have.

Everything good about it will be stripped out when it goes back to committe for resolution, and the media will declare that the final form has wide bipartisan support.

There is also the now widely accepted practice of selective enforcement. What makes you think that Holder will care to enforce the parts he doesn’t like?
