Years ago I tried to do a “benefit”. Got some nasty surprises!

I want to help protect and defend our Bill of Rights too, to be clear. If we (all of us) do serve, protect and defend our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and our Nation what will we have accomplished? If we (all of us) do NOT serve, protect and defend our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and our Nation each of us knows what we will have accomplished. Do we NOT or do we do what we can, will and may?

If an ‘event’ is going to happen, I don’t want to see it hijacked. Some local tea parties hook up with these lobbyist run ‘tea parties’, pay them a bunch of $$ to ‘organize’ an event. From what I’ve found there isn’t much ‘organizing’ going on except on line.
I know lobbyists are perhaps ‘necessary evils’, but do they have to have their fingers in EVERYTHING...they write our laws these days, isn’t that enough? But no, they take over our causes, take our money and spend it on the opposition. Swell, huh?

As multiple people have mentioned, there needs to be some coordination. By no means am I a community organizer, but I do run some pretty big projects at work.

I have a toll free conference line that we can call into. I say that we put an hour and a half towards a dial-in Sunday after church or Monday night.

FRmail me with agenda items and I will put an agenda together for the conference call and run the meeting. Any volunteers to take meeting minutes please step forward. I do not run meetings effectively and take notes at the same time.

First draft of agenda items:
Introductions: 30 secs each, location, willingness, abilities, and connections
Governance roundtable: how we make decisions and decision rights
Charter: define our objectives and put it into writing
Subcommittee formation: what committees we need and how we will run them.

So that is a start. FRmail me additional agenda items and take ownership. Their are so many fantastically talented FReepers with great ideas. Let's get together and act.

Permits

a. One jiffy john per 300 people is required at about $200 per jiffy john
b. Any stages, etc that are going to be on the grass will need to have a matted access route for vehicles to drive on. Then they have to be self standing - NO driving pegs into the grass
c. A minimum of several months of planning and organizing is needed to get sufficient numbers to attend. People have to plan.
d. We need some BIG names early on to help draw people
e. We will need to hire medical teams for the event. I am not sure how many are need per ?? people.
f. Donations, and from deep pockets, are severely needed.
g. Advertising and lots of it is a must.
