G.O.P. Senators Signal Possible Breakthrough on Gun Bill (Idiots running amuck in DC)

Several Senate Republicans on Tuesday came out publicly against filibustering the first major gun control legislation since 1993 before it is even brought up for debate on the Senate floor, as advocates inched toward breaking a conservative blockade of the measure.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Ms. Collins said she had spoken several times with Mr. Manchin and was pleased that the new language would exempt from background checks the sale or exchange of guns between family members. Under the measure, records of gun sales would be kept, but Ms. Collins said she was satisfied that those records could in no way be compiled into a national gun registry, a fear gun rights groups have been voicing.

Call your reps. Write ‘em, too.

Virginia's senators are the kneepad twins, Tim Kaine and Mark Warner. They serve the interests of Barack Obama and the DNC. Writing and calling their offices is a waste of time and effort. Fortunately, we have good folks in the House to help provide a firewall against this madness.

"It sounds like the GOOBers are settling for a camel’s nose gun bill. Once it is allowed to start, it will never stop."

Just ask the Boy Scouts trying to fend off gays wanting access to little boys... it's one legal battle after another.

Did Ms. Collins also believe that the "AFFORDABLE" health care act (0bamacare) WOULDN'T raise health care costs?..

I've no way of knowing.

To her credit, however, Collins voted against Obamacare.

They already have a gun registry. Do you really think that when you file for a background check they don’t keep a record? Think they don’t get a record of ammo purchases, gun range expenses, hunting licenses ? They are checking Facebook, emails and web searches.
We have a one party system disguised as a Representative Republic.

Selling out freedom for a vague hope of a promise. How in the hell did she arrive at that conclusion?????

Yeah, it was her twin Snowe that voted to bring the measure to the floor in committee. The committee needed just one Repub vote to bring it and they got it from her. She is the RINO we can blame for havining Obamacare today.

“If records are kept then it’s already being compiled into a national gun registry.”

Indeed. The new 4473 has perforations. This makes it easier to pull off the folded edge and run the form through a scanner for OCR and computerized record keeping. Know also that the program of hostile audits of “kitchen table” FFL dealers that was started after the 94 gun ban is in full swing. Know what happens to an FFL dealers records (4473) when his license is pulled? Yep, back to the ATF for “reasonable” record keeping.

NO good will come of any compromise where this newest batch of legislation is concerned.

Just now an ad came on Channel 6 Philly urging you to call Senator Toomey to vote on registration of firearms. How come there are no ads compelling people to call and tell their reps to vote no on registration?

And how was she "satisfied" these records would never be compiled into a national gun registry? Did she & the socialists demTurds make a "pinkie" promise with their little fingers?

What a bunch of f__k_n idiots! Like we're going to trust the words of corrupt politicians who lie through their teeth all the time!

Throughout its journey through Congress, Obamacare secured one Republican vote. And only one.

And, yes, indeed -- it was Olympia Snowe's vote which passed the abomination out of committee.

She thought the measure was soooooooo important that it "deserved to be debated on the Senate floor".

Thanks a lot, Ms. O.

I don’t get why the preliminary filibuster is the end. Why not just filibuster at the END of debate, if the bill hasn’t turned out like you would want?

And on 4/11, Reid intends to ‘break’ the filibuster and move ahead with the gun-grabbing.

April 11th.

In history
1919 – The International Labour Organization is founded.
1921 – Emir Abdullah establishes the first centralised government in the newly created British protectorate of Transjordan.
1945 – World War II: American forces liberate the Buchenwald concentration camp.
1951 – Korean War: President Harry Truman relieves General of the Army Douglas MacArthur of overall command in Korea.

2002 – The Ghriba synagogue bombing by Al Qaeda kills 21 in Tunisia.
2002 – Over two hundred thousand people marched in Caracas towards the Presidential Palace of Miraflores, to demand the resignation of president Hugo Chávez. 19 of the protesters are killed, and the Minister of Defense Gral. Lucas Rincon announced Hugo Chávez resignation on national TV.
2006 – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announces that Iran has successfully enriched uranium.
2007 – 2007 Algiers bombings: Two bombings in the Algerian capital of Algiers, kills 33 people and wounds a further 222 others.
2011 – 2011 Minsk Metro bombing

I take it 19 Senators will vote to grab guns. On April 11th.
