Annette Funicello lost her long battle with MS today. She had been suffering for a very long time. Especially for those of us old enough to remember her on the Mickey Mouse Club this is a sad day.

A sweet, charming woman who carried her private struggle with dignity and class.

I never thought she was beautiful but there was something about her which was very attractive.

Maybe just a pleasant demeanor.

I’m so sad about this.

I was just talking about her to my husband yesterday.

In 2012, Annette had spent 15 years out of the public eye. Her disease had severly damaged her nervous system.

She lost the ability to talk and walk. She required round-the-clock care in 2009 to survive.

In 1983, this generous and caring lady had opened the Annette Funicello Fund for Neurological Disorders in conjuction with a California foundation.

She fought the good fight....all the while thinking of others with her foundation work and fund-raising.

RIP, sweet Annette.

Paul Anka made a crass announcement about a week ago, related to a book he is shilling. It might have shown a little class for him to have waited just a bit. But I guess he just had to gossip.

RIP to Annette
