Gabrielle Giffords’ husband pulled his daughter’s dog off of a sea lion in Laguna Beach over the weekend.
The incident, which was captured on video, happened around 1:40 p.m. Saturday at Goff Cove Beach by the Montage Laguna Beach.

If I go there next week, and my dog kills a child, can I claim I did ‘nothing wrong’.
I know a woman who went to prison because her dog killed a boy at the bus stop (and she should have, since she couldn’t control her dog).
But Kelly did nothing wrong? The animal was protected by the marine protection act...but ‘accidents are ok’? What if my boat accidentally kills a whale...whoops, an accident?
Those of us in the non-governing class would have faced a fine.
A woman merely rode a manatee and got arrested - that manatee lived.
Oh, but she's not a Democrat politician, too bad.
I’m sorry but everything about this video is hilarious, including the decision to blur the part where the dog is biting the sea lion.
Nor does the original report have an angle protecting Kelly, which the national media put there.
It is a “pet” peeve of mine people nowadays think it’s all fun and games with their dogs. A dog should be trained to ignore other prople and animals. Instead everyone thinks their pets should immediately make friends with every stranger they encounter.

If that were me and my dog, I probably would have been charged with something,,, dead baby animal and all.
Another reason every adult American needs a Modern Sporting Rifle.

The bias can be in what they decide to cover, what they decide not to cover, or in how they phrase the coverage that they eventually provide. Whether consciously or unconsciously, the media presents news which assigns the role of Good Guy to Democrats and the role of Bad Guy to Republicans.
Your dog attacked and killed a sea lion? Well, we will still assign you the role of Good Guy. Nothing to see here, please move along.
OMG! It was one of those horrible bull dogs. Did mark kelley-giffords have a back ground check done before the dog was released to him/his daughter? Where was the waiting period? Why hasn’t the kali DNR charged him/his daughter in the death of (I think) a “protected” species? Pretty sure that if an animal that you are supposed to be in control of kills a “threatened/protected/endangered” species, you are responsible and liable. Unless you’re a “star”. You or me, fined, possible jail, dog impounded.
Sea lion hatred is so ingrained in these people.
I’m sure Mark and Gabby fileted the sea lion, barbecued it, and served it to the homeless.
I think all dogs should be limited to ten teeth.

Most states have “harassment of wildlife” laws, and sea lions are protected under the Marine Mammal Protection Act. A guy was recently fined a large amount for merely riding a protected whale.
Joe citizen would most likely be facing a minimum of a large fine. “Equal Protection” doesn’t equal protection.
I wonder how much his fine will be? /s
