This might be perhaps the greatest segment of Geraldo at Large ever known to man. During what was supposed to be a debate about NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg‘s various “public health” laws — indoor smoking bans, hidden cigarette displays by mandate, bans on large sugary beverages, etc. — Ann Coulter attempted to flip the “liberal nannying” logic upside-down by bringing up illegitimacy, sodomy, AIDS, and gay bathhouses.
Suffice it to say the segment went off the rails. And did so quickly.
Anti-obesity advocate (and big Bloomberg fan) MeMe Roth started off praising the mayor’s various efforts by noting that he is a “student of behavioral psychology” who understands that “increasing the inconvenience just a little bit” will lead to better choices by the consumer.
Coulter was not having any of it. She tore into Bloomberg by suggesting we just be done with it already and “have a death penalty for smokers,” before changing the subject to the negative behaviors that liberals are unwilling to stigmatize, such as illegitimate birth.
Geraldo Rivera‘s efforts to corral the segment away from unwed teen pregnancy were for naught. When Roth made the claim that bans on various unhealthy activities are warranted because “we pick up the tab” for other’s bad habits, Coulter countered that “I think you’re going to have to do something about the gay bathhouses.” .....

Smoking, salt, fatty foods, soda and fried foods are bad for your health.
But what’s a little bacteria among ‘friends’, eh?;)
The liberal playbook, an incomprehensible puzzle of hypocrisy and stupidity.
The progtard Whorealdo had on was beyond annoying and would not accept how idiotic her argument was. As much as I think Coulter makes a fool of herself often, and has indefensible love-affairs with people like Krispy Kreme, she nailed this one.
Good strategy, Me Me Roth claims she want people to bear the cost of their actions, but liberalism depends on people diverting the costs of their behavior onto others. Coulter was right to hit them like this.
This reminded me of the Coulter I liked years ago when I was reading her early columns and books. As you say, she nailed this one.
Damn I love that woman!!
That’s a keeper! :)
"I'm male and males, even if they are the father, aren't allowed to be involved in choosing life or death for their babies."
The Sex Positive Agenda will not be challenged. They seek to end all moral (and rational) judgments against any sexual activity regardless of sex, age, relation, marital status, number, or species of partner(s). And it is advocated by academia and medical professionals. Whether it is through sites like Go Ask Alice or “sex week” teach-ins or the Massachusetts public schools system, or...
I wouldn’t be surprised if Meme Roth would support the death penalty for overweight people, but for choosing a lifestyle that leads to intractable diseases, horrific death, increased suicides, and pederasty as a means of reproduction — HEY! That is just fine with her.
Funny how Liberals invade any other aspect of life with unwanted government intrusion, and then demand it be stopped/regulated because "we all have to pay for..."(--heck, there are FReepers who use that same argument--)instead of just stuffing the Government back in its Constitutional sized box and letting people pay for their own choices. However, when it comes down to specific Liberal activities, they just want us to pay while they play.
More hypocrisy.
So true.
A Government based on the sensations in one's groin is unlikely to have good long-term prospects.
Some might not be aware that the talk show host Michael Savage became persona non-grata back in the early eighties for suggesting precisely that gay bathhouses be closed as vectors of disease transmission. At the time he was run regularly in the papers as a nutrition homeopathic health guru, but after his statement they all dropped him like a hot potato, eventually leading to his career in radio. So the road Coulter is heading down has been travelled before.
Isn't it time insurance companies be forced by smoker to ask the question on homosexual acts? If they can ask me about smoking why not the fags to take in the .....wall you know where.
He had a hard time controlling Ann and the Roth person suffering her liberal mental disorder, Ann did pretty good:)
I watched it last night because I knew Coulter was on. The looks she gave the Roth nut were classic! LOL!
Ann has been redeeming herself very recently.
