Colt is constantly approached by other states to relocate. Several red state governors
Governors hell, I'm not shy about sending them letters and inviting them to my state and laying out a case for relocation.

Move the whole operation to South Dakota! Great people, no state income tax, awesome place to be for those who want to enjoy their 2nd amendment rights. Great hunting, fishing.
To: Perseverando
excellent... I hope every manufacturer in the gun industry pulls out of Conn.

I'm torn. Leave to show Connecticut a lesson or stay and stand your ground?
I suspect the 2A climate will change, eventually.
Isn't there an uptick in concealed carry permit applications in Connecticut? That tells you what the people want.

Advice to Colt:
Don’t imply or make threats you’re not prepared to carry out. If Malloy and his band of fascists do as promised, and Colt doesn’t leave, it will be a green light to the rest of the despotic governors to come after us.
Never bluff with liberals. Never back down. Hit em fast and hit em hard.

(snip)
Magpul may be the first firearms-related business to relocate as a result of state gun-control laws, but it probably wont be the last. Companies in Connecticut, Maryland and New York are considering moves to more gun-friendly pastures as their state legislatures act on restrictive firearms measures similar to those pushed through by state Democrats here.
Founded in 1999, Magpul stands as a relative newcomer to the firearms business, but even companies with hundreds of years of history in their states may look to relocate as a result of political shifts.
In New York, where Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed laws banning so-called assault weapons and limiting magazine capacity to seven rounds, venerable gun manufacturer Remington Arms is being wooed by officials in at least a half-dozen other states.
We are carefully evaluating our options, Teddy Novin, marketing director for Remington parent company Freedom Group, Inc., told the Utica Observer-Dispatch in January.

See my post #11.
There is no middle ground with the anti 2nd amendment crowd.
Stop them in their tracks or capitulate completely. Any illusions of compromise guarantee your defeat by incrementalism. Their goal is not safety, it is TOTAL disarmament and nothing less.

Virginia is for "gun" lovers!!
However knowing that Virginia elected two 'rat senators, Warner and Kaine, would probably scare them away from here. This fact would probably cause me to preclude VA from my list of potential locations if I were the CEO of Colt. VA seems to be going from red to blue!
