Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) pretty much dumped Senator Dianne Feinsteins assault weapons ban bill, leaving her feeling a bit betrayed. In fact, it is questionable that a serious background check will make it to the Senate floor.
Feinsteins response to Reids decision was classic. She told CNN, What Senator Reid told me is that I would have an opportunity for a vote. I take him at his word. I told him also that it would be my intention to separate out the prohibition on the future, manufacture, transfer, sales, and possession of large ammunition-feeding devices of more than ten bullets. I asked him if this could be part of a package. He said no. And I took away from that meeting the belief that we would have a vote on the full bill, and a vote on ammunition-feeding devices of more than ten bullets.
This is very important to me and Im not going to lay down and play dead, she continued. I think the American people have said in every single public poll that they support this kind of legislation. Its aimed to protect children, to protect schools and malls. Its aimed to dry up the supply of these over time. And it came out on a 10-8 vote of the Judiciary Committee. Not to give me a vote on this would be a major betrayal of trust.
Harry probably kept feeding her office various positive comments, and then in the swiftness of one minute....dropped her enthusiasm a thousand feet. If I was Mitch....I’d stop by her office tomorrow, and just drop off a bottle of Kentucky’s finest bourbon and utter the phrase....better luck next time.
So can Senators be citizen arrested for crimes against the Constitution and the citizenry?
Don’t buy it...a set up, this will be attached to Johnny K’s UN Arms Treaty or some such bullsh*t.
“...just drop off a bottle of Kentuckys finest bourbon...”
Is there one with an “Old Bitch” label?
I agree with the swine. They should vote.
Lets see those cards.
It’s unusual to see a rift in that party as they’re all joined at the hip marxists...love it.
The Nazi in a skirt bitching about the Nazi in a suit. Can it get any more comical?
There will be an effort to attach the ban to an all or nothing coninuing resolution that will result in dead puppies, snarfblats breeding strangely and such, should it fail.
The GOP will have no other choice but to do the work of the people and keep the lights on....
Same poop, different pooper. Oh and it will be done mid holiday weekend at about 3 AM.
Where is the media here? “Civil war” brewing in Democrat party? Isn’t that as big as GOPe vs TEA party?
Nothing worse than a Nazi tyrant scorned. Be afraid.
Into the memory hole with the whole affair!
Maybe she'll run into Bubba in the Senate corridors and he'll tell her to 'put some ice on that, sweetheart'.
No.
Next question.
Of course it will. In some form or another. Enslavement is what Democrats do.
BINGO!
Gotta love it. We get so few reasons to smile these days. I'll take just about any good news I can get.
