Lefty Fox News analyst Juan Williams is in hot water after it was discovered that a column hed written for a political insider publication contained plagiarized material.
According to a report by Salon.com, a Feb. 18 piece that Williams wrote for The Hill newspaper copied almost word-for-word from a study by the far-left Center for American Progress on the subject of immigration and Social Security.
Confronted by Salon, Williams blamed his research assistant, a young man who, according to Williams, had submitted the barely altered paragraphs to him for publication in the column:
For the full details of the particular wording, see the Salon link above.
Williams is the second prominent left-of-center journalist to get caught plagiarizing. NewsBusters exposed CNN host Fareed Zakaria for committing plagiarism last August. Like Williams, he also blamed his researcher.
Just like his hero MLK.
Another shining example of Affirmative Action personified. The libs were right, Juan. You are a slacker.
Typical liberal. I'm surprised he didn't blame Bush.
“The bitch set me up.”
The buck never stops with any of these guys.
“Look, there’s this young man on my staff — he writes stuff, I take it, put my name on it, and get it published. It’s not plagiarism, it’s just me putting my name on stuff that someone else wrote. Where this went wrong, you see, is that the young man didn’t actually write this particular piece — you see, he took something that someone else wrote and then passed it to me, making me think that he wrote it. So, obviously, when I took the piece, put my name on it, and had it published, there was no way I could have known that this was plagiarism.” [/not an actual quote from Juan Williams]
in other words, he plagarized a plagarist.....
Sounds like something Bawney Frank would say.
Some of us warned Fox many many months ago....

I know Juan Williams and I like him, personally. I also believe that his basic values are solid and conservative. But, he is firmly on the liberal side of the political divide and as I have told him, he doesn’t know why. He is trapped by his background and political affiliation into a role that is not suited to his character. He laughs when I tell him about screaming at him when he appears on TV, but I think he paints me as the strange one. He lives in a fantasy world.
On this issue, his story is likely correct, but that’s no excuse. In this age of Google, he doesn’t need to trust the assistant, he just needs to Google a few text strings and he has the responsibility to do so. It’s the price of fame and it’s what he has to do if he wants the big bucks. Welcome back to reality Juan.
To me, Juan will always be Juan the Moron, looking like a deer in the headlights.
He is one of the reasons that I have pretty much quit watching FOX NEWS.
Just as bad is fatso Beckel.
Part of the problem is that this who amnesty issue has been dragging on for better than 20 years and the same arguments keep cycling through. There are only so many ways you can say the same thing.
This is old story from last month, but surprisingly it didn’t show up on a search.
It’s no big deal. MLK plagiarized his dissertation and probably all the papers he wrote in graduate school.
Stealing is no big deal anymore.
"Who also happens to work for me"
almost word-for-word from a study by the far-left Center for American Progress on the subject of immigration and Social Security.
Note to Juan, next time please don’t use our talking
points verbatum, ok?
Well journ-0-lists get confused sometimes, LOL
“Like Williams, he also blamed his researcher.”
These pseudo journalists really are nothing but talking heads, aren’t they? Too lazy or busy kissing butt to do their own work.
