"But why shut the [White House] doors on those kids in Iowa, and Florida, and Texas. I'll make you a deal, Mister President. Jay Carney, grab your pencil.
"Let these families take their White House tours next wek and I'll cover the added expenses. Word is it will cost about $74,000. If I can get the White House doors open, I'll pick up the tab.
"Mister Carney, you know this is an offer you can't refuse -- give me a call."
(fast forward a little)
"I will absolutely write the check if they open the doors next week."

stick it to him!
dag nabbit I wanted to put this is news (and breaking news at that) instead of chat
Perhaps instead, Bolling et al. could pay tuition for one or two of our returning servicemen since this administration has cut the tuition aid.
Let them refuse! It will be more proof — very easily understood by even the most “low-information” voter — that Obama is making up reasons to deliberately hurt people.
For once, it’s literally, absolutely true: It’s for the children.
There’s no way the Wh can accept but it might shame them into fixing the problem.
Then again, Zero has no shame!
When FOX News Channel or Hannity agree to pay for a week's lost pay due to the Sequester for a low paid single mother I know who works for the DoD and has a child with severe medical issues, let me know.
I’ve heard that the tours are self-directed. The money in question is for some 30 Secret Service agents.
But these are details. Bolling and Hannity are calling out the White House. Let’s see if the WH Press Corps dares to bring this up at the next event.
Hit the abuse button on yourself, explain what you want and the Mod will probably fix it for you.
A lot of people on FR have been severely hurt by the economy in the last four years. It’s not that we don’t feel sympathy for your friend, it’s just that the Sequester battle is making Obama look like a fool. He approval is already dropping as a result of his doomsday prophesies.
Thanks for the tip. But I already linked a related thread to this one so I don’t want to foul it up.
Eh, I’m not going to worry about it. If somebody else makes a real article about this and Drudge links to that article, we’ll have at least half a dozen links in the news section to that article within an hour. :-)
That would be an example of a “false dilemma”.
There’s not just one way to help people out.
You have a lot more confidence in the low information voter than I. No doubt this will all be covered up or spun somehow by the mainstream media.
You complained so I was trying to help. You can always put a new link in the other thread.
whozat?
Oh no I sincerely appreciate your help; I wasn’t minimizing it at all.
I botched it in the beginning and I botched it again by linking to it before you offered your help — which I will keep in mind for the future.
So any effort without a 100% guarantee of success just isn’t worth trying? Maybe Hannity and Bolling could cough up $85 billion and cover the entire Sequester “shortfall!?!”
