Madison police have arrested a man accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a minor.
Eric Law, a WLBT meteorologist since 2004, is charged with two counts of sexual battery and two counts of gratification of lust.
Madison police say the arrest is the result of an allegation that Law had inappropriate contact with a girl under the age of 16.
Judge Dale Danks set bond at $50,000 per count, for a total of $200,000.
"Eric Law has been suspended until further notice," said WLBT News Director Wilson Stribling.
Oh, oh, perp walk in court, red jacket!
Thanks so much, petitfour!!!
As a “real” meteorologist, I take offense.
Is he an actual meteorologist or a TV weather reader?
Has he ever put out an actual forecast on his own using raw data or does he just read what NWS feeds to the station?
Just curious.
One wonders if the car crash involved a head injury. Shades of Stuart Irby.
Indeed. Car crash —> life crash.
His poor wife. Wonder which lovely pirhanna law firm has the divorce case tonight...
‘Gosh, I better be careful about bragging on my BBQ ribs.’
Ypou had better definitely not mention the salacious rub that you use on those ribs.
I too remember Woody Assaf as the weatherman.
Do you remember Reddy Kilowatt?
My kids always laugh when someone asks about the weather, and I break into the jingle;
"The weather, the weather, what's it gonna be?
Here is Reddy Kilowatt to show you on TV!"
I remember him doing Seale Lilly ice cream commercials. Things were so much simpler then. :)
That car crash settlement money sure made him think he was hot stuff. (I’ve re-written this comment three times...lol).
Do they have children? I feel so sorry for his wife. He’s such an embarrassment. Under age girl! Eric faces up to 90 years in prison if he’s found guilty!
No, I just looked online and found that he passed away in November 2009 from heart failure. He was 92 years old and is remembered as the nation’s longest serving TV weatherman.
I remember seeing at least 2 kids climbing around on the hospital bed after the accident.
Odd title for people who know absolutely nothing about meteors.
Sounds like this guy was more of an ass-trologist.
>> I remember him doing Seale Lilly ice cream commercials. <<
Yep, them was the days! Woody doing the weather (up against Bob Neblett at WJTV), and Alon Bee Sr. in the WLBT annoucer’s booth, with Dick Morphew & Dick Sanders at the news desk. They don’t make ‘em like that any more!
Woody lived to 92? That’s awesome! Always liked him!
Not a jacket.
That’s a hoodie! lol

I would like an answer to your question myself.
