Last month, the Senate Budget Committee reports that in fiscal year 2011, between food stamps, housing support, child care, Medicaid and other benefits, the average U.S. household below the poverty line received $168.00 a day in government support. Whats the problem with that much support? Well, the median household income in America is just over $50,000, which averages out to $137.13 a day. To put it another way, being on welfare now pays the equivalent of $30.00 an hour for a 40-hour week, while the average job pays $25.00 an hour.

weird, I have been trying to fill positions in central Kentucky as well and it is always the 40+ year old workers that have the ‘that’s less than i could make sitting at home’ mind set. the 20-30’s are just happy to be employed.
Let’s trade candidate pools! :-)
Oh, I just knew my $#!thole of a state, Illinois, would be on this list.

Good thing you didn't see what kind of car she was driving.
The upcoming Civil War will be about the desire of the Makers to divorce themselves from the Takers. If we keep on allowing the lazy class to live off the sweat of our brow, society will be what E.G.wells described in, "The Time Machine".
Raise import tariffs and put Americans back to work, working for Americans.
It will cost consumers in higher prices, but the net result will be a much richer America where everyone has a job.

I was getting some coffee this morning and thought about this...tax rates, Government spending, waste, fraud, sequestration, on the dole, not on the dole, retirees, public retirees, illegals who work for cash, illegals who are here not working...
What my BA in English mind came up with is the fact the Government has decided, in their infinite wisdom, that the hours, sweat, aging and fruits of the private sector’s labor is MORE IMPORTANT to be GIVEN to PUBLIC EMPLOYEES or GOVERNMENT-DEPENDENT FOLKS vs. the people who provide the capital for them to spend.
It is sort of the backward households that the teenage children take over, abusing mentally or physically their parents. The inmates are running the asylum and their eternal laziness and sense of entitlement HAVE BEEN GIVEN PRIORITY over the PRODUCERS.
See, if you work for a living, you are a sucker, especially if you are working at a low-paying job where the people who come into your business are doing ZILCH and getting your tax dollars to not push a broom, answer phones or ring up people at the register.
The entire system is upside down, the pride of self-determination, thrift, morality and self-denial are systematically being drowned out by the Kardashian-Oscar Party-give-it-to-me-now society that emerged, post Vietnam War era.
I am not Nostradamus, but I can tell you this...one day the credit card (or EBT card), Section 8, SNAP card, AFDC check, subsidized utilities, Medicaid, ObamaPhone and other assorted public and private charities will be finished, and the impact will be that those people will be told the people who took away their lifestyles are the “Evil Rich” who don’t want to share with them. This is 100% opposite the truth as those evil rich have been paying for the party all along, but an agitator like Obama or Jackson could invoke large property destruction and primal or Government-assisted attempts at redistribution of wealth...
There will not be a happy ending to the madness, this is exactly what Cloward & Piven wanted, to overload the system, then take the IRA-401K’s-SEP’s and have Government chop of the remaining wealth as they see fit.
This is not pretend, it’s what the Soros-Frank Marshall Davis-Bill Gates-Sunstein-Holder-Obama-Axelrod-Jarrett want, a new nation based on Communist principles for them to rule over us.
I cannot know the last chapter, but it will be very, very ugly and bloodshed will be unavoidable.
“Good thing you didn’t see what kind of car she was driving.”
I did - it had an Obama sticker.
That’s waaaay more than we live on. Good thing I know how to scrimp and remake my old clothes. Just finished sewing Christmas presents since I can’t afford to waste money. And am currently turning a pair of old pants into shorts and making a garden tote bag from unwearable ratty jeans, and have ideas on turning a stack of fabric samples into a quilt - all without spending a dime. But hey, so happy that woman can afford name-brand clothes and a fancy cell phone on my tax dollars. BTW, my cell phone is an old plain jane that does nothing but phone calls and is on a limited minutes of $5/mo.
It also should apply to those working for government. For example, you can’t vote in elections at the level of government that taxes to pay for your compensation. So state employees sit out state elections, municipals sit out city elections, and feds can sit out the national elections. That way the people getting the bite can decide how much they are willing to be bled and government employees can vote with their feet if they feel their talents are not being adequately rewarded in a given position. It brings market forces back to government with the people deciding what services are worth. Yeah, nice dream. I know.

“The Time Machine” by H.G. Wells was not science fiction but a thinly veiled blueprint. Wells, a hardcore Fabian Socialist and Globalist, also wrote “The Open Conspiracy” and “The New World Order”. He was also pals with that affable chum, Joesph Stalin.
Well, just got another unexpected expense we can’t afford. The wind is blowing like crazy here and just took off part of the roof. Gusts are supposed to get higher later on so guess it’ll rip off more. If I were living in gov housing, it wouldn’t a worry. Quick, where do I sign up?
