One of the most intriguing sideplots from Senate Republicans successful filibuster blocking Chuck Hagel from becoming Defense Secretary was that one of the GOP ringleaders was recently tagged by critics as someone who shared his more-isolationist worldview.
But freshman Kentucky senator Rand Paul, who openly talks about his presidential ambitions for 2016, is playing the long game and his politically savvy positioning suggests hell be a major national player. Unlike his father, hes not interested in pursuing ideologically charged issues just for the sake of making a point, hes learning how to make an impact in Washington.
One senior Republican leadership aide gushed with admiration over the freshman senator, emphasizing that hes been able to tailor his libertarian ideology toward legislation that holds broader appeal. The adviser touted his involvement on right-to-work legislation, his call to audit the Federal Reserve, and even his leadership on legalizing industrial hemp legislation first pushed by his father, which has now won support from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Rand is somebody who has the generational know-how to turn it into 21st century machine. He gets branding. He understands theres a need for credibility, said the adviser. He understands he doesnt have the answers to everything. Hes not afraid of input, but is totally confident in listening to input to help achieve his goals.

Cautiously optimistic. I’m hoping that Scott Walker throws his hat in the ring, but if Rand is the only one running up against Jeb, Christie and the rest of their fellow democrat travelers, I will have no problem at all with volunteering for his campaign.
I hope you do, we’d welcome you aboard. We believe in building coalitions and reaching out to everyone even if we don’t agree on everything 100% we can all agree that the Federal budget needs an axe taken to it to get the deficit and debt under control. Only Rand’s budget will do this (you will see it soon and he will insist on it getting a vote.. it won’t pass though lol)
What state are you in if you dont mind me asking??
I'll just say that I'm a swamp yankee.
New England? I think you’ll find if you decide to get involved that we are making great strides there in taking over state GOP’s and throwing out the RINO’s. I am talking about the former Ron Paul forces and libertarians of course.
I just don’t believe the elites who control the GOP will ever allow Rand Paul to be nominated for President or Vice President. Sarah Palin was able to sneak onto the 2008 ticket because her selection and nomination happened so fast that the elites didn’t know what they were getting until after the nomination.
That fact alone makes me sit up and take notice of him.
If all goes according to plan in Iowa and NH then what stops him? They can’t. He could win both easily. Rand is one of the few who can appeal to NH and Iowa and his dad had over 20% of the vote there so there’s a good base of support for him and the organization is still largely in place.
if electronic voting and vote counting machines aren’t outlawed and vote fraud is not punished for the severe crime that it is, there is really no reason to even hold an election other than for the purpose of continuing to fool the people in thinking they have a voice in how this country is governed. We don’t and it’s foolish to think otherwise.
The one thing I'm sure of is that there isn't any easy way to survive the kind of onslaught that GOP power brokers can deliver with almost unlimited amounts of money.
They tried it in Kentucky and failed. They have noting on Rand and only made him stronger. He won his primary with 58% and the general with 55%.
He’s on Chris Wallace this Sunday on Fox, rising star. Wallace is going to give him a hard time no doubt but he can handle it :)
Rand has my attention. Not that he’s perfect, not that I agree with every last thing that he ever says, but because he fights. He’s 95% right and he fights. I’ll take that over the 70% deal-making mush the GOP promotes season after season.
I’ll take his budget over any others. He’s the only one to admit the mess we’re in and his budget cuts the federal government properly... well, his last one did. He is principled.
Yes, he succeeded in Kentucky and I personally wish him luck in the majors. ;-)
I think he will be trying to amend any bill that is brought on immigration to get congress to vote on border security annually before giving any visa’s to illegals and he wants them to wait in line so they won’t get a green card and citizenship for what, 12-15+ years? He won’t support anything more generous than that.

Given that our votes didn’t count in the last election because of alleged massive voter fraud which the corrupt media ignored, what makes anybody think that our votes are votes are going to count in the next election?
It will be easiest in 3 states...Maine, New Hampshire and Connecticut. It might be the Hardest in MA and Vermont...
