A six-day California manhunt ended Tuesday with rogue ex-cop Christopher Dorner apparently dying in a cabin fire on Bear Mountain.
One of many big questions to be answered is how the deadly fire was started.
Multiple unconfirmed audio clips appear to show police officers talking about burning down the cabin in which the alleged cop-killer was hiding.
Deliberately starting a fire, rather than waiting out the suspect, could be seen as an extreme measure.

In an unconfirmed video showing live footage from KCAL9 Los Angeles, officers are apparently caught in the background around the 20 second mark saying, "burn that f------ house down." It continues:
[Inaudible]
"Burn him out!"
"Get to him right now, f------ burn this motherf-----!"
Another unconfirmed video posted to YouTube of television coverage from CBS 2 captures officers apparently saying, "burn it down, burn it down ... get the gas." Another officer says, "yeah, burn it down." The exchange happens around the 1:24 mark:
The Guardian reports that journalist Max Blumenthal was listening to the police scanners, and live-tweeting the event.
On the scanners, Blumenthal reports hearing an exchange where the police talk about using "burners." The Daily Caller is reporting that is police slang for tear gas.
"All right, Steve, we're gonna go, we're gonna go forward with the plan, with the burner."
"Copy," is the response.
"We want it, like we talked about."
"Seven burners deployed and we have a fire," says the first voice.
"Copy. Seven burners deployed and we have a fire," responds a female voice.

So much for property rights. yep the State gets to decide what is proper with your home. Be thankful they are nice enough to let you use it sometimes.
California taxpayers are going to get a visit from "FTB Bubba" for some serious "lovin without lubing" for this one anyway.
And we're going to be picking up the tab for the massive Federal presence...
Yup. No messy “Rule of Law” mumbo jubo to worry about.
“Press conference.
They didnt intentionally set fire to the house
they are not 100% sure it is Dorner”

A voice of reason-——all the facts are not in.
.
this guy was nothing more than a BS artist to justify his murdering of innocent people. Glad they smoked him.
For the same reason a marine (Lee Harvey Oswald) assasinated a President? Their warped mind and ideology was with them before, during and after their service.
“Its embarrassing here.”
You’re right. I don’t know why you continue to do so. But, it’s a free country. Well kinda, sorta.
To paraphrase a former President:
"It all depends on what the meaning of "set fire", is."
Sure they do. I'm so sure, I would bet your life on it.
Neither did Larry Potts.
Were those women shooting at the cops? How about that guy in the black pickup they also shot?
hmm?
If this guy is such a whacko why was he a cop?
I watched CBS live throughout the whole thing. They just pulled back but not out.
He was surprised by maids, tied them up, without hurting/killing them and fled in their vehicle.
He car jacked another man and allowed him to leave with his dog; again did not hurt the individual.
Then there is a firefight where the all along plan was to burn the building he's in to the ground.
It was "supposedly" and "allegedly" Dorner that the police were firing on and trying to burn alive. Whatever happened to Positive ID? You know like U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan need before engaging a target.
When did we grant police shoot on sight authority?
How did the police know Dorner did not have any hostages in the cabin, that did not belong to him? Dorner had already taken hostages earlier.
I'm not a conspiracy nut, but wasn't Dorner's badge and identification found the other day? Yet, the "proof" it was Dorner in the cabin was his driver' license was found. Okay, great it's Dorner. But, why do we need to wait until police are shooting at a fleeing individual, giving chase, and and innocent victim's property is intentionally torched before they have positive ID?
What if it had been someone resembling Dorner like a mexican newspaper delivery woman?
“they are not 100% sure it is Dorner”
Well that would be just great now wouldn’t it?
Of course it’s him. They found his Drivers License in his pocket. They must have better license in Cali than they do here. Mines looking kinda rough and it’s never been through a fire.
He was an ex naval officer and an ex-LAPD cop.
Sad to see so many ‘conservatives’ celebrating how the LAPD handled this entire situation. Heck we don’t need to worry about the leftists, the so called conservatives will glady welcome in the police state.
Probably admitted under affirmative action but eventually was found out and given the boot.
Then went on a murderous rampage, killed the completely innocent daughter of his lawyer (and her fiance) and then called said lawyer and rubbed in in his face.
That he was put down as a mad dog is a cause for celebration.
Thanks for making my point AGAIN.
I am not anti cop, why must you engage in such hyperbole to make your weak point?
So, to get this strait, burning a home down is self defense?
Are cops now judges/juries and not defenders of the Constitution?
Like I asked another poster, what if the ladies delivering papers who who fired upon fired back, who would you have supported then?
Nice to see you support torching random individuals. Giving police the authority to chase down individuals without positive ID, shoot at them, and then by your wishes torch innocent citizen's property and roast your "suspect" with a flamethrower.
Real nice conservative values you got there.
heck I bet you would have been happy to throw the Constitution on that fire to make it burn just a little hotter.
Yeah, you're right.
After all, Lloyd Tschohl "tried to kill" the police, too...
