Republican Sen. John McCains tweet comparing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to a monkey is drawing criticism from a fellow GOP lawmaker (Justin Amash) as racist.
On Monday, McCain wrote, So Ahmadinejad wants to be first Iranian in spacewasnt he just there last week?

Faced with criticism, McCain said in another tweet, lighten up folks, cant everyone take a joke. That didn't satisfy Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan, who tweeted, Maybe you should wisen up & not make racist jokes.Amash defending the biggest racist on the planet like that makes me look askance at the fellow. Another one who rode in on the shellacking ready to do a sudden about-face?
Sorry, this is one time I’m with McCain! Amash needs to go score media points somewhere else.
Imanutjob wants to be the second Iranian monkey in Space...
I thought it was insulting to monkeys.
This is wonderful-but then he has nuttin’ to lose.
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and raised in Kentwood, Michigan, Amash is a second generation Arab-American of Palestinian Christian and Syrian Greek Orthodox descent. His father is a Palestinian business owner, whose family immigrated to the United States in 1956 through the sponsorship of a Christian pastor and his family.
Well what do you know? Amash is an Arab. I know Iranians aren’t, but it seems he should not be worried about our enemies, and he endorsed Ron Paul for Prez... Says all I need to know about him.
What race is Ahmahnutjob ? And when did Justin Amash become his press secretary ?
Sounds like a double agent all right.
So then, he resorts to tribalism when it suits him? And he’s “Tea Party?”
Persian, I believe. This seems to be the proper name for Iranians; the popular media is trying to suppress that even though the Bible affirms Persian (from “Paras”).
Lots of reasons to criticize McLame....but this ain’t one of them.
Iranians are Caucasians.
When did Justin Amash become Ahmadinejad’s press secretary? When he, despite being a Paultard with an even greater admiration for Iranian Muslim nutjobs than even L. Ron Paul has, won the GOP primary to Congress after only 3 years in the state house because he was the only candidate who had never cast a vote with which conservatives disagreed (shockingly, candidates with longer records had cast one or two votes that could be deemed sub-optimal).
Justin Amash is a bona fide Palestinian Paulistinian. He’s like one of those Arab members of the Knesset, only with less respect or admiration for U.S. military personnel. He needs to be defeated in the GOP primary in 2014; otherwise, he will continue hurting the Relublican and conservative brands until he coughs up his comfortably GOP seat to the Democrats.
Of Palestinian descent and donated to Ron Paul. I wonder what his record is on Israel.
Looks like Amash has a positive political rating with the Arab-American Institute:

“McCain said in another tweet, lighten up folks, cant everyone take a joke?”
