AYUTLA, MexicoMasked men, rifles slung over their shoulders, stand guard on a lonely rural road, checking IDs and questioning travelers. They wear no uniforms, flash no badges, but they are the law here now.
A dozen villages in the area have risen up in armed revolt against local drug traffickers that have terrorized the region and a government that residents say is incapable of protecting them from organized crime.
[snip]When a village commissioner named Eusebio García was captured on Jan. 5, several dozen villagers from Rancho Nuevo grabbed weapons and formed a search party. The next morning, they found Mr. García in a nearby house with his kidnappers, who were arrested and jailed, say the militiamen.
"This was the turning point, the moment everything exploded here," says Bruno Placido, one of the leaders of the armed groups. "We had shown the power armed people have over organized-crime groups."

Raises the question whether Hussein and Holder are getting a cut of the action to "look the other way". That sounds like a Chi-Town move.

Police hate Vigilantes worse than anything.
When Vigilantes are formed it shows the failure of the regular police forces to do their job. Police do not like to admit to failure.
In Mexico the Police have been proven to either be cooperative with drug gangs or powerless to stop them.
That’s why the people have formed Vigilnace Groups.
I am surprised they turned over prisoners to local police instead of hanging them.
Sheep turning into sheepdogs.
Good luck to them. They’re gonna need it. Those cartels don’t play games.
That's what happens when governments attempt to enforce laws that defy the God-given right of their citizens to defend themselves.
Thanks for the link.
“When you ain’t got nothing, you got nothing to loose.” (Dylan said that. Bob Dylan.)
You mean nothing to LOSE?
“What does anyone need an AR-15 for?”
These “vigilantly groups” made up of citizens concerned with the defense of their towns were, in better times, referred to as the militia
Imagine the power these “Vigilantes” would have if some 20 or 30 million of their countrymen hadn’t been allowed to simply run away across a porous border.
Then why are many inner city neighborhoods controlled by the gangs to keep the peace?
The only way you can defeat terror like this is to basically imitate it or to simply overpower it. In this case I would recommend beheading, burning the heads to powder, and hanging the torsos.
“AYUTLA, MexicoMasked men, rifles slung over their shoulders, stand guard on a lonely rural road, checking IDs and questioning travelers. They wear no uniforms, flash no badges, but they are the law here now.”
That sentence could have been written about No.California! People in my county report hearing ‘Spanish’ being spoken ‘out there’ in the middle of the night along rural Siskiyou county roads...Illegal alienARMED Mexican drug cartels patrolling and guarding their pot fields on our public lands!
Now, just tell one of my neighbors he doesn’t need an ‘assualt rifle’ and only needs 5 or 6 shells for his gun!
They aren't there to "keep the peace". They are protecting their turf from other drug dealers.
” Imagine the power these Vigilantes would have if some 20 or 30 million of their countrymen hadnt been allowed to simply run away across a porous border.”
If these pretend humanitarians actually cared about tahe people of Mexico and all points south, they’d deport everyone of them with an AR-15 and let them clean up that mess down there!
Hmm...
These are good guys, right? Protecting themselves and the locals from gangs, thieves and the cartels, right?
BUT in Mexico it is against the law to have guns, right?
So where do they get their guns? How is it they have rifles?
Mexico has strict gun control laws nationwide. It is not like Chicago where you can just go a few miles to get to a different jurisdiction with less stringent gun control laws.
How do they do it?
It’s a mystery to me...
