In the latest attack on the American people, a decorated War Hero has been arrested and charged with five counts of third degree criminal possession of a weapon, for having empty 30 round AR-15 Magazines in his vehicle.
On Sunday January 6th Staff Sgt. Nathan Haddad, a decorated combat veteran, was driving through Jefferson County New York when he was randomly pulled over for a vehicle check. Haddad, who had five 30 round empty magazines in his possession, was arrested by the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department and charged with five felony counts.
According to Haddads brother, Michael Haddad, Nathan thought these magazines were legally made before the New York Assault Weapons Ban. When Nathan Haddad was arrested the new ban had not even been fully enacted yet.
This is not a criminal, this is not some thug looking to hurt people; this is a decorated combat veteran who was recently honored by the Philadelphia chapter of Blue Star Mothers and the Union Leagues Armed Services Council for helping disabled vets get back on their feet. Whats happening to Army veteran Nate Haddad is an absolute attack on liberty. Here we have a man who honorably served his country, who was trusted with weaponry that far exceeded anything he was carrying, that now finds himself facing the possibility of spending years in prison.

The question is whether he said “No” when he was asked if the police could look through his car. If he ignorantly thought the police are always on the side of the good guys, he’s screwed.
There’s no way for us to organize. We are many but no organization; so scattered out across the country. I feel so helpless
Who cares? Possess them anyway and force the jerks to stop you.
It doesn't matter. The New York law wasn't in effect yet. He wasn't committing a crime at the time of his arrest.
Yeah, how do you think that is going to go after Zero puts a couple more Marxists on the court?
You won't have the 2nd amendment right to own a squirt gun.
In 2002, coming back from a fishing trip to Northern Quebec, the Fish and Game Commission gestapo, stopped our vehicle, a 28' walk in box truck that was loaded with our gear {8 guys} and fish on ice in containers.
After they checked all of our containers and found that we only had the legal limit, they made us unload the entire vehicle on the side of the road, and went through every single article, piece of clothing, and left every thing completely torn apart.
We had nothing illegal, but we had 8 fish sandwiches, which they made us eat on the spot, at 10 AM.
We axed them why they were doing this and one smart assed cop, told us, "because we can".
We complained to authorities at the border crossing, to no avail.
After over 25 years of excellent fishing in Canada, we never went back and those arrogant canucks can kiss my Dago ass and I'll continue to spend my money in the USA.
That cost those frenchy arrogant pricks over $75,000 since our change over to US fishing.
When I want really northern fishing, there is no place like Alaska, and you can see Russia from there.
In a working America, checks and balances working as intended, this would go to the Supreme Court, where New York's "random vehicle checks" and anti-gun laws would both be struck down as unconstitutional under the fourth and second amendments.
In Obama's America, with Sotomayor, Kagan, the newly turned-to-the-dark-side Roberts, and the other tyranny-enabling justices on the court, we're probably screwed.
What makes this even more outrageous is that Jefferson County is where Fort Drum is located - home of the US Army Mountain Division.
“It doesn’t matter. The New York law wasn’t in effect yet. He wasn’t committing a crime at the time of his arrest.”
It does matter since even before the recent BS 2013 law, it was illegal to have post 94 high cap mags in NY.
“randomly pulled over for a vehicle check.”
What means “vehicle check”????
Is this supposed to be some “safety check”?
Or, is this a 4th Amendment violation of search and seizure?
If you know your rights, there are only two choices that you offer the police -
“am I under arrest, or am I free to go?”
If they ask to search the car, or where you’re going, or where you’ve been, or if you’ve had something to drink -
“am I under arrest, or am I free to go?”
NY is a great place to be FROM.
RULE 4: Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
Statism has no common sense.
That’s unfortunate, but not what we’re talking about here.
And so it begins.
There is no limit as to how far these fascists plan to push the American people. Is there a limit as to how far the people will allow themselves to be pushed?
Sadly, IMO, as long as they don’t go too fast, the people will allow it to proceed until too late.
Welcome to Acirema, where everything is backwards.
“NY is a great place to be FROM.”
IH8NY, looking to become a FORMER resident ASAP.
The law is um-Constitutional - he wouldn't be breaking any laws even if he was caught after the edict had been passed. Will be interesting to see some of the unlawful arrests as they go up the Courts.
I live here. Trust me - you have not a clue how upset many of us are - its like a communist state
