For all the talk about President Obamas liberalism, his immigration agenda is the last thing you might expect: conservative.
His enemies might deny it. His staff might not recognize it. But the argument Obama presented Tuesday for a path to citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants is rooted in economic and social conservatism.
First, in a Las Vegas address that included the words economy or economic 10 times, Obama argued that immigration fuels corporate innovation. It keeps our workforce young. It keeps our country on the cutting edge, he said. And its helped build the greatest economic engine the world has ever known.

If that plan is “conservative”, Obama actually was qualified to get into Harvard, too.
Illegals are government growth hormone and anyone who supports amnesty and calls themselves a conservative is a liar.
30 million illegals is enough to create some 50 new congressional districts (primarily democrat) and all the costs, pork, earmarks, entitlements, and liberal votes associated with them.
This is nothing more than a plan to politically exterminate conservatism in America.
What’s going to happen with all these illegals becoming legal? Right now, most are working - but they are working under the table for less than minimum wage. Once they become legal, their employers will have to increase their pay. How attractive will they be to employ? How many will suddenly become unemployed? I can’t wait for all this to happen...
11 million people with 2nd grade educations are going to fuel corporate innovation? Yeah right...
“His enemies might deny it. His staff might not recognize it. But the argument Obama presented Tuesday for a path to citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants is rooted in economic and social conservatism.”
Rooted in economic and social conservatism? Hmmm. Nah, not feeling it Ron. Therefore, I’m still an enemy and still denying it. In his entire political career, BHO has never done anything remotely economically and social conservatve.
What a crock!
Yeah, right. Like importing millions of people who are barely literate is going to breed technical innovation. If that were the case, mexico would be a technological and innovative powerhouse. Enforcing existing law and setting a high standard for immigration guarantees quality new Americans, not throwing open the floodgates for millions of potential welfare recipients.
Ron Fournier is a Communist. His articles are assuredly leftist going back many years.
I don’t trust this article one bit.
Red Herring Alert!
Conservative is to secure the border and enforce the law.
Let the chips fall.
So enabling illegal activity is now “conservative?”
Well let’s see...Food prices will have to go up, and landscaping, hotel/motel housekeeping, construction labor, etc.
The unemployment numbers will have a sudden upward jump, as will expenditures for unemployment benefits, food stamps, etc.
So to sum up: Your cost of living will go up, Your competition for jobs will go up. Your national debt and probably your taxes will go up.
Next question: Cui bono? Who stands to gain from legalizing the illegals?
Best bet on that citizenship trick is Congress grant them CANADIAN citizenship.
Conservative my Arse. I’ll reluctantly agree to permanent resident status for the illegals already here, but NO PATH TO CITIZENSHIP!

Somebody from National Journal is telling us what’s “conservative.” That’s rich.
Well, one definition of 'conserve' is "to keep things the same" -- in that manner, yes [government] enabling illegal activity is quite conservative.
And when you give them permanent resident status they go off to court with the ACLU & get their voting rights granted.
