Hours before President Obama is set to deliver a major immigration speech, a key Republican senator blasted the president for reportedly opposing a requirement to shore up border security before legalizing up to 11 million illegal immigrants.
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., one of four Republican senators involved in a bipartisan effort to craft immigration reform legislation, warned the president Tuesday against taking such a position. It was the first sign since the senators unveiled their guidelines a day earlier of friction between the two efforts.
"I think that would be a terrible mistake," Rubio told Fox News. "We have a bipartisan group of senators that have agreed to that. For the president to try to move the goalposts on that specific requirement, as an example, does not bode well in terms of what his role's going to be in this or the outcome."

Thats funny. I've been watching this situation for decades now and everything I've seen and heard during that time informs me that Rubio and his plan are full of crap.
But lets see how it plays out - if I'm wrong and Rubio has an effective plan that really is good for this country I'll happily admit it.
If YOU are wrong I hope you'll have the integrity to admit it, as well.
Not that it'll matter, if this 'reform' falls short then nothing anyone says will matter anyway.
Rubio, along with the Dems, and most of the GOP, just want to to ethnically cleanse all non-Hispanics out of our home. I despise them all.
I agree with your take on this. As he said, barry was going to what he wanted one way or another, it would be naive to just sit on the sidelines and do nothing.
Somedays I just laugh, what else does barry got up his sleeve, he’s thrown so much at the wall in the last 2 weeks alone. Psy-ops for sure, it sadly, it seems to be working.
Has anyone suggested enforcing employer sanctions and verifications?
Those two points aren't an either/or choice.
The Plan
1. Destroy the Republican Party
2. Before the conservatives can regroup under a different flag,
Destroy the country
Bwahahaha .... (evil villian laugh).
Yeah, it sounds a bit silly said that way, but that is pretty much exactly what 'fundamentally transform' means.
If you are evil enough, you can say or write explicitly what you mean, and nobody will believe you meant what you said, until the bodies are stacked head high. Obama has is an admitted Marxist, and arguably an admitted Muslim. Neither bodes well for the USA.
You may well be right. Rubio is Hispanic and he tilts toward “his people,” just like Obama tilts toward “his.” In a perfect world, all the illegals would have to go home, but it would appear that neither party is willing to do that. Even Reagan wouldn't. But we do need to make certain that the border is really secured before any illegals get amnesty. We should also change the so called “birthright citizenship.” Otherwise, Mexico will just continue to procreate and send us the results, because the “white” spaniards who run Mexico consider the “indigenous people” to be trash.
There is only one solution to this problem which, if left unchecked, will surely destroy this nation - make illegal immigration illegal again.
No jobs
No education
No medical care other than emergency
No benefits whatsoever
Zero tolerance.
THIS is the right thing to do. Anything less is the proverbial bill of goods - more lies from the government.
“Zero tolerance.”
You are right! How do we get it to happen? The politicians are for ever sifting the populous for votes. Both parties see Mexican illegals as voters, or in the case of the GOPe, strong backs and weak minds for their “business buddies.” I had a Silicon Valley business owner tell me that he couldn’t survive “without illegal labor.”
“If YOU are wrong I hope you’ll have the integrity to admit it, as well.”
If I am wrong? I think the only effective solution to illegal immigration is to cut off the goodies, and really secure the border. Rubio seems to be wanting to deal primarily with those that are already here (i.e. he’s vote buying). I would also prefer to deport all of those twelve million odd “break in artists,” but I’m not holding my breath that that will ever happen. We’ve been down this road more than once. We always seem to be able to “accommodate” the illegal influx, but we never get around to the stemming the tide piece. Maybe it’s time we invaded Mexico and threw out their corrupt government. Then we could control both sides of the border. The only real problem with Mexico is that it’s populated with “free-lunch folks.” Just think, we already have at least ten percent of Mexico’s population.
Can’t argue with any of that:)
