Criminal charges weighed in Newtown deaths (sandy hook massacre)

HARTFORD -- The prosecutor investigating the Newtown school massacre told a new panel Thursday not to expect a final report on the Dec. 14 slaughter anytime soon.

Danbury State's Attorney Stephen J. Sedensky III announced that while no criminal prosecution seems likely to emerge from the mass murder and suicide, he wants to suppress much of the evidence from the public anyway.

"This is an ongoing criminal investigation, for which I have obtained extensions of time from the Superior Court to keep documents sealed, so that the investigation may continue unencumbered by distractions," Sedensky said.

"The rules of professional responsibility for prosecutors require that I take steps to prevent publicity that would have a substantial likelihood of materially prejudicing a potential prosecution," he said.

In a brief appearance before Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's 16-member Sandy Hook Advisory Commission, Sedensky said that he expects the State Police report on the shootings to be several months away.

"Of course, if the investigation reveals that there should be a criminal prosecution, then that prosecution would take precedence over any report," Sedensky told the panel of municipal officials, mental health experts, security professionals and social-service providers.

"Though no such prosecution currently appears on the horizon, I am sure you can appreciate that all leads need to be investigated and evidence examined before final decisions and statements are made," he said.

He offered to meet privately with a representative of the advisory panel to provide information that he might not release to the public.

Sedensky said that during the first week after the shootings, federal, state and local police worked around the clock investigating the crime scenes at Sandy Hook Elementary School, at the 36 Yogananda St. home of Nancy Lanza, whose son Adam, 20, murdered her before driving her car to the school, and elsewhere.

"We are hoping for some time this summer, perhaps in June," said Sedensky, a Newtown resident, adding that details on the mental health of Adam Lanza, are protected from disclosure under privacy regulations and might not be able to be provided to the commission.

Bill Ritter, the former governor of Colorado whose district attorney of Denver investigated the aftermath of the 1999 shootings at Columbine High School in Littleton, told the panel the nation is watching.

"You could wind up saving lives at some point in the future," said Ritter, who later became governor and became a target for a deranged gunman who was shot and killed by a state trooper outside his office. "Healing can happen" but it can be a long-term process.

Richard Bonnie, a professor at the University of Virginia School of Law who was an adviser to the Virginia Tech Review Panel following that 2007 shooting, warned that legislation and regulatory changes can be affected by emotions.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, in the panel's first meeting Thursday morning, said that the consequence that seems to be separating Newtown from other mass shootings is that momentum for a positive outcome to the crime seems to be gaining every day, not fading.

"We must take a serious look at public safety, particularly school safety, so our children can grow up and go to school without the fear of violence in a culture that does in fact glorify violence," Malloy said.

"We need to have a discussion about stopping that," Malloy said. "The recommendations you will craft over the coming weeks and months will no doubt take us toward that goal: better mental health, better safety in our schools and a system that is set up to stop the glorification of the violence."

Later in the afternoon, after Sedensky's testimony, Malloy, a former prosecutor, was asked by reporters about the reticence to release more details of the shooting.

"I think there's always this situation where a prosecutor is trying to make the right balance," Malloy said.

"This was an attack so outrageous, in the killing of 20 six-year-olds that in many ways it's going to have an imprint, the likes of which I can remember where I was, in the classroom, when someone came in to say President Kennedy was shot," Malloy said. "I think this is that kind of event. So I think he needs to take the time necessary to conclude the investigation. Having said that, I would hope that as little time is necessary. It's more important to get it right than to rush out a report."

On Friday morning, a legislative subcommittee looking into issues of school security after the Sandy Hook shootings will hold a public hearing starting at 9:30 a.m. in Room 2-C of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.

As you pointed out you can fire 223 with a 556 but you can not fire 556 with a 223.

The significant difference between the .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO lies in the rifles, rather than the cartridges themselves. Both the .223 and 5.56 rounds will chamber in rifles designed for either cartridge, but the critical component, leade, will be different in each rifle.

The leade is the area of the barrel in front of the chamber prior to where the rifling begins. This is where the loaded bullet is located when a cartridge is chambered. The leade is frequently called the “throat.”

On a .223 Remington spec rifle, the leade will be 0.085”. This is the standard described by the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute, Inc. (SAAMI). The leade in a 5.56 NATO spec rifle is 0.162”, or almost double the leade of the .223 rifle.

A shorter leade in a SAAMI spec rifle creates a situation where the bullet in a 5.56 NATO round, when chambered, can contact the rifling prior to being fired. By having contact with the rifling prematurely (at the moment of firing), chamber pressure can be dramatically increased, creating the danger of a ruptured case or other cartridge/gun failure.

The reverse situation, a .223 Rem round in a 5.56 NATO gun, isn’t dangerous. The leade is longer, so a slight loss in velocity and accuracy may be experienced, but there is not a danger of increased pressures and subsequent catastrophic failure.

There are known Satanists in the area. The shooter is reported to be a Satanist.

Really? Known Satanists? How many? Name them. As far as the claim that Adam Lanza was a Satanist, the sole source for that claim comes from one Trevor L. Todd who sold his “exclusive” story to the National Enquirer within mere hours of the shooting wherein he claimed to be a former classmate of Adam Lanza and claims to have seen Lanza’s Devil Worshipping web site. Trevor must be a very special person however since he seems to be the only person on the entire planet to have ever seen this alleged website. Trevor has been pretty quiet since his NE interview BTW. Is that because he was “silenced” or is it because he was just looking for his 15 minutes of fame, knew it was a lie. And it should be noted that even if Adam Lanza took a screwdriver and hammer to destroy the hard drive in his computer, that wouldn’t destroy a website. If you have a link to Adam Lanza’s Devil Worship web site, please provide a link. If such a website existed, it should be available, even if it was taken down before the shooting – cashing and all that. This supposed devil worship angle has been repeated by many conspiracy minded websites but it all goes back to Trevor’s one unsubstantiated and unproven claim in the one NE story.

There is a wide spread Priest child molester ring in the area.

Connecticut is not a large state but Bridgeport is not exactly in the same neighborhood as Newton.

And so are GWB, his wife and kids and his mother Barbara Bush, Sarah Palin, Dan Quayle and Matthew McConaughey, all because I posted pictures of all of them displaying supposed “Satanic Devil Horns”.

OK I will give you that Matthew McConaughey is a little creepy but I seriously doubt he is a Satanist just a big Texas Long Horns fan.

So let me try to reconstruct all the pieces of your conspiracy theory.

Adam Lanza was the victim of a Pedophile Catholic priest.

A. There is no evidence that the Lanza family were Catholic, that Adam ever attended a Catholic school or had any contact with any Catholic priests, live alone one from Bridgeport.

Adam Lanza was a Satanist because he was abused by a Catholic priest.

C. There is no evidence that Adam Lanza was a Satanist
D. There is no evidence that Newton was a hot bed of Satanist activity.

Proof of Satanism is definitively proved by the picture of the dude in the dead Sandy Hook teacher’s photo and by the photo of the Parker’s three year old sucking on her two middle fingers.

E. That picture of the old dude proves nothing. You might think he’s “creepy” but you seen to see “creepy” in anything and everything.
F. The supposed “Devil Sign” by the Parker’s three year old isn’t even a “Devil” sign nor a Metal Head sign, nor a Texas Long Horns sign, it’s just a kid sucking on her fingers.

Adam Lanza’s father and the Aurora shooter’s father were both to testify in the LIBOR scandal.

G. Neither was involved in LIBOR, nor the companies they worked for and neither were scheduled to testify. If you have proof to the contrary and not just wild speculation, post it. I previously posted to you explaining what the LIBOR scandal is about and how it had nothing to do with Lanza’s and Holmes’ fathers or the companies they work for, but you never responded and continue to ignore that.

The parents of the murdered Sandy Hook Elementary School kids are hired actors.

H. For this to make any sense, you would have to believe that not only the parents but their surviving children, all the teachers, all the first responders, the hospital workers, the morticians….just about everyone in the town of Newton would have had to have been in on it.

Let me see if I can piece this all together. The government decided,many, many years ago that they could eliminate 2nd amendment rights by getting a pedophile priest from Bridgeport to secretly molest Adam as a child, Adam, a non–Catholic who never attended any Catholic school, but obviously involving the complicity of the Catholic Church, perhaps even the Pope himself and causing Adam to turn to Satanism and making him create a website that no one except for Trevor L. Todd ever saw, that the government also made Newton a hot bed for Satanism, that the people involved, after the government secretly moved everyone who was originally a resident of the town and replaced them with government paid actors, that pretty much everyone in the town of Newton, would keep this secret but would like the guy in background of the murdered school teacher’s photo, give obvious signs and signals by displaying “Devil” horns, that the 3 year old sister of Emile Parker would do the same, that it was part of a much wider conspiracy that also involved suppressing the testimony of not only Adam Lanza’s father but James Holmes’ father regarding the LIBOR scandal of which in reality, neither had any connection to, but since the LIBOR scandal involved banks in Great Brittan that Queen Elizabeth was also likely involved, that the Batman movies foretold Sandy Hook and mentioned Aurora…Aurora being also the name of Sleeping Beauty, and Hook being the name of a character from another Disney movie, obviously being part of Walt Disney’s involvement through subliminal messages in his cartoons and with him being a Jew Hater and Sandy being the name of the Hurricane in October 2012….Am I missing anything….
