Requires owners of existing assault weapons to register them with the federal government under the National Firearms Act (NFA). The NFA imposes a $200 tax per firearm, and requires an owner to submit photographs and fingerprints to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), to inform the BATFE of the address where the firearm will be kept, and to obtain the BATFEs permission to transport the firearm across state lines. Prohibits the transfer of assault weapons. Owners of other firearms, including those covered by the NFA, are permitted to sell them or pass them to heirs. However, under Feinsteins new bill, assault weapons would remain with their current owners until their deaths, at which point they would be forfeited to the government. Prohibits the domestic manufacture and the importation of magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition. The 1994 ban allowed the importation of such magazines that were manufactured before the ban took effect. Whereas the 1994 ban protected gun owners from errant prosecution by making the government prove when a magazine was made, the new ban includes no such protection. The new ban also requires firearm dealers to certify the date of manufacture of any >10-round magazine sold, a virtually impossible task, given that virtually no magazines are stamped with their date of manufacture. Targets handguns in defiance of the Supreme Court. The Court ruled in District of Columbia v. Heller that the Second Amendment protects the right to have handguns for self-defense, in large part on the basis of the fact handguns are the type of firearm overwhelmingly chosen by American society for that lawful purpose. Semi-automatic pistols, which are the most popular handguns today, are designed to use detachable magazines, and the magazines are those that hold more than 10 rounds.

I am not seeing this NFA requirement in the current form of the legislation. It looks like she backed away from it. Even the article you linked pulls this requirement from a dec 27 draft of the bill.
But that’s not all:
Lessay you have 10 “AW”’s —to comply with the law and register them means you pay $200 for EACH...! Thus a law abider would have to pay $2,000...!!!
I’m also told that hi-cap mags would be NFA items and ALSO subject to the $200 tax...!
What happens to those with 100 mags? Such people pay $20,000 to comply...?!?!
Folks, current reporting shows she backed away from the NFA requirement since december.
F U D F!
Well since we’re going to sit on our collective asses and let them disarm us so as to be the smartest people in the room, why not?
I foresee a tragic boating accident in my future, and the loss of everything aboard.

Boating accident? Tell them to try and take em. Choose your time to make a stand, not them.
“Lessay you have 10 AWs to comply with the law and register them means you pay $200 for EACH...! Thus a law abider would have to pay $2,000...!!!”
So asking someone to present an ID (which costs nothing) to vote is an infringment of the right to vote, but having to pay $200/ so-called AW is not an infringement of the RKBA. And what if they decide to make the fee $2000/ gun.
“Im also told that hi-cap mags would be NFA items and ALSO subject to the $200 tax...! What happens to those with 100 mags? Such people pay $20,000 to comply...?!?!”
BS like that is just a bargaining chip. Something to give away during negotiations.
Meanwhile, the last school shooting, at a college in Houston,is not the kind they might have hoped it was,
to accelerate the momentum for a larger and more comprehensive, mired-in-bureaucratic regulations, fines, taxes and punishments gun-grab. Turns out that shooting was more like a Chicago or L.A. gangbanger personal thing, between two “youths” who had a score to settle. That’s why it is now officially dead.
Sadly I was out shooting in the desert and my entire kit holding all my guns fell into a unmarked mine shaft that coincidentally caved in afterwards. A sad, sad day, as I had no way to record the exact site I have never been able to find the place again!
No.
The 1911 Colt could be banned under her bill.
