'My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die.'

The infamous line from 'The Princess Bride' has been repeated the world over by fans of the cult classic but some Aussies on a Qantas flight on Sunday didn't appreciate the humor.

Wynand Mullins boarded his Sydney flight wearing a T-shirt with the movie quote and was asked to change his attire after his fellow passengers complained that they felt threatened.

My dad has almost the exact same shirt. Except the name tag is “name tag sized”.

Who is the idiot? The guy with the funny t-shirt? Or the limp-wristed jackasses wetting themselves over it?

Did they kill his father? Unless they had six fingers, they had nothing to fear.

Yes this guy is a fool. But that aside, the Aussies have sure turned into soft pussies since they allowed their guns to be confiscated by the govt. Someone felt threatened by a shirt. If the guy was going to do harm, I doubt he would announce it like that. Get over it people. There are fools, and there are libs.

Did they check the passenger list to see if Count Rugen was on the flight?

Heck, they wouldn’t LET me change when my two y.o. threw up on me when I was carrying him to our seat. They threatened to throw us off the plane when my husband tried to get a shirt out of our carry-on.

The guy next to us jumped at the chance to deplane for $100 and the next flight. ;)

In this environment it is not wise to wear a shirt talking about killing people on plane.

I am sure there are many people who have no clue that is a quote from a movie.

I didn’t know it.

I suspect he wore it on purpose .

It’s just dumb when people are still worried about being killed when boarding a plane.

So if he removes the shirt the passengers will not feel threatened any more? In other words, they were threatened by the words on the shirt, not by the person who consciously put on the shirt carrying the words?

How stupid. If there was a threat, it would be from the person. Shirts can’t kill anybody.

This is important, because it shows how stupid the public is. They have the same attitude towards guns. They are afraid of guns even in the hands of police officers! How stupid can they be? You can be in a room with 50 armed police officers and you are safer than anywhere else in the world!

But then I never expected the public to think clearly.

I agree completely.

While we can debate about the over reaction of those on the plane. It is understandable given the continued desire of terrorists to bring down commercial aircraft.

We live in a global culture that promotes extreme narcissism and I too believe he wore it on purpose to get attention. Many people walking around today have the emotional maturity of 5 year olds. In a child’s mind even negative attention is good attention. We are living in a world occupied by children walking around in adult bodies.

My name is Jack. When people that know me say: “Hi, Jack!”, I have to remind them not to greet me like that if they ever run into me at the airport :)

He wasn't talking about killing people on the plane. His t-shirt made a funny reference to a movie from the 1980's.

Hyperventilating morons are what are killing all common sense these days.

Don't be one.

Here’s a ploy - an unarmed terrorist wears a “scary” t-shirt like the guy in the photo. The passengers and crew get all in a tizzy and focused on that guy. Meanwhile, the real bomber (wearing a Bambi t-shirt) goes unnoticed. Or something like that. It’s too early in the morning....

So you are scared about some words on a shirt.

And you allude that this guy is the one that needs to grow up?

Really?

You miss the point.

MANY MANY MANY people have no clue it is a quote from a movie.

I have never watched the movie.
Never heard the quote.

Would you still feel the same way if it was a cleanly shaved Muslim on the plane next to you wearing the same shirt who says Allahu Akbar as he sits down????

He’s not “boasting ‘prepare to die’ “ ... it’s a funny shirt with a movie quote on it. Good grief.
