Senate hearing: 9:00a.m. EST. House hearing: 2:00 p.m. EST
Watch live here. Also on C-SPAN 3.
In her first testimony since the Benghazi attack, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will participate in a full day of hearings Wednesday about U.S. diplomatic security and the American mission in Libya.
Sec. Clinton will appear before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the morning followed by an afternoon testimony to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. In December, the State Department's highest ranking foreign service officers, William Burns and Thomas Nides, testified before Congressional lawmakers in the Secretary's place. They discussed a new report by an independent panel assessing the Benghazi attack.
Deputy Sec. Nides put several recommendations from a report on the attack into effect before the end of 2012. Implementing the rest, Nides said, will be underway by the time the next Secretary of State takes office. Three State Department officials have resigned since the report was released.
The two officials were substituting for Secretary Clinton, who was recovering from a concussion she suffered after fainting due to dehydration from a stomach virus.
Four Americans were killed in that attack, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens. Congress is investigating whether the State Department denied a request for extra security at that outpost earlier in the year and what actions were taken in the moments after the attack began.

Her story is a new one and doesn’t match any of the other stories we’ve heard.

WHO issued the order to STAND DOWN? That's been my question ever since Catherine Herridge first reported on that order and I believe that NOT ONE of the Committee members, Republican or Democrat, will have the balls to ask that....THEY ARE ALL SCUM!!!!!
I challenge any one of them to prove me wrong......PLEASE!!!

Exactly. "What are you doing to make sure this never happens again?" ASK HER WHO ORDERED THE STANDDOWN!! WHO WAS IN THE ROOM DURING THE FIREFIGHT! WHERE WAS OBAMA!

Au contrarie. Hillary will be made into a heroine by the MSM. She really cares about her people. Each Dem will preface his/her question by praising her. And Hillary will dance around the ineffectual questions asked by the Reps. The Senate is not the place to put pressure on a former senator and colleague.
They have come to praise Hillary, not to bury her.

Hillary has brought her secret weapon to the hearing....which is - boring everyone to death. Mendenez (D) asked a broad question which enabled her to drone on and on and filibuster till the five minute limit was up.
The pubbies can obviously negate her ploy by asking precise, sharp questions....and by politely stopping her when she goes off on a diversionary toot.
I don't know if the Republican senators can do this or if they even want to.
I look for better results from the House GOP members.

Yup. No pressure GOP.
Had to mute Boxer. Can only take so much shrill presumption after only one cup of coffee.
From this point, I imagine I'll be muting out the D's time entirely.
