In her first testimony since the Benghazi attack, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will participate in a full day of hearings Wednesday about U.S. diplomatic security and the American mission in Libya.
Sec. Clinton will appear before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the morning followed by an afternoon testimony to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. In December, the State Department's highest ranking foreign service officers, William Burns and Thomas Nides, testified before Congressional lawmakers in the Secretary's place. They discussed a new report by an independent panel assessing the Benghazi attack.
Deputy Sec. Nides put several recommendations from a report on the attack into effect before the end of 2012. Implementing the rest, Nides said, will be underway by the time the next Secretary of State takes office. Three State Department officials have resigned since the report was released.
The two officials were substituting for Secretary Clinton, who was recovering from a concussion she suffered after fainting due to dehydration from a stomach virus.
Four Americans were killed in that attack, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens. Congress is investigating whether the State Department denied a request for extra security at that outpost earlier in the year and what actions were taken in the moments after the attack began.
Yes, exactly,from the latest I heard Benghzi was a hostage setup with zero’s terror types supposedly there just to kidnap Stevens and then trade him for the blind sheik,abdul rachman. The shot hit the fan when the two cia guys former seals took out 60 terrorists instead. The terror types thought they had been double-crossed and did what they normallly do to gay infidels.

Actually the CIA is correct. The ops were hardly covert! Everyone in the area knew about what was going on. Benghazi was an arms depot and may have held terror hostages as well.

I had to go out prior to McCain, but Hillary said the people there were debriefed in Washington, which appears to be more Clintonian parsing. I have not the slightest doubt that State and the CIA debriefed everyone either in Tripoli or Ramstein. It is SOP. Hillary is lying and there should be an investigation of that immediately.
The idea of waiting for an FBI investigation to be completed is nonsense. These people were victims not criminals. What kind of rationale would there be for not debriefing them immediately?

That would have given her the opportunity to filibuster. Questioning a snake like Hillary Clinton is all about dominating the conversation because she's not going to give you a straight answer. It's about burying her in her own incompetence.
That should have prompted a good followup.
“So if it doesn’t matter who did it why did your admin push a lie for weeks that it was due to a video? Apparently the reason for the attack and who did it was very important to the obama admin.”
I don’t why anyone truly expects something to come out of this....a few lobs here and there but there won’t be much of this in a few days - unfortunately that’s the way Washington D.C. works these days.

I agree - where did Hillary’s face full of wrinkles go? Did she get a face-lift when she was in the hospital for the so-called “blood clot”? On TV today, her face looks 40 years younger.

IMO, Hillary’s outburst was one of her many memorized speeches waiting for an opportunity.

One other Hillary statement caught my attention:
Sen Barasso: The President also said “AlQaeda has been decimated,” and in light of the recent terrorist activities that we continue in North Africa and around the world, would you characterize that as ‘AlQaeda has been decimated?”
Hillary: “Well core AlQaeda certainly has been. I think you would hear the same from the intelligence community or DoD. The work that has been done in Afghanistan and the borders area between Afghanistan and Pakistan certainly has taken out a whole cadre of leadership.
What we are seeing now are people who have migrated back to other parts of the world where they came from primarily who are, in effect, affiliates-—uh, part of the JIHADIST SYNDICATE. Some of them like AQIM use that name. Others use different names.
But the fact is they are terrorists; they are extremists; they have designs on overthrowing existing governments, even these new Islamist governments; controlling territory, so although there has been decimation of core AlQaeda in the Afghanistan/Pakistan region, we do have to contend with the wannabes and the affiliates going forward.”
Let’s see if anybody in the House listened this AM and follows up with that line of questioning in the House —
So What difference (at this point) does it make? Let’s list the reasons:
1. In one case, the event would have been ‘being in the wrong place at the wrong time’ - an accident. But what happened in Benghazi was planned, deliberate, and WARNED. Yet we allowed it to happen with no response whatsoever.
2. It means that people still hate us and want to kill us for being Americans. What have you done to protect our people abroad as a result? (Answer: obviously nothing, after the Algerian oil field incident - you could even argue that are enemies are becoming emboldened again)
3. It means that we cannot trust our government to rely on anything as a truthful statement. Even something that was overtly known to be a lie within mere hours of first reporting.
4. It means that we cannot count on our government to defend us from “all enemies, both foreign and domestic”, as they are sworn to do.
I’ll stop there.
Oh yeah, and there were some around here who actually thought Hillary was afraid to testify. I mean, what does she have to fear? With the one party oligarchy and the compliant media, this story has already sailed. I did a quick scan of the "news" media's headlines of Hillary Clinton's testimony and here is what I saw; "Clinton slams criticisms over Benghazi" and "In Benghazi hearing, Clinton chokes up, angrily rejects GOP jabs" etc etc
