Army drill scares residents on Houston’s south side

HOUSTON (KTRK) — The sight of Army helicopters and the sound of gunfire created a lot of concern Monday afternoon in one Houston neighborhood.
We received a lot of phones calls, Tweets and Facebook posts from worried neighbors, wondering what was going on.
SkyEye 13 HD was over the south side where at first look, it appeared there was a massive SWAT scene happening.
With military helicopters flying above her southeast Houston neighborhood, Frances Jerrals didn’t know what to think.
“When you see this, you think the worst. When you hear this, you think the worst,” Jerrals said.
And so, she passed along her concern.

Yemen Seizes Sailboat Filled With Weapons, and U.S. Points to Iran
New York Times ^ | January 28, 2013 | THOM SHANKER and ROBERT F. WORTH

The authorities in Yemen have seized a boat in their territorial waters filled with a large quantity of explosives, weapons and money, according to American officials briefed on the interdiction. The officials said Monday that there were indications that Iran was smuggling the military contraband to insurgents inside Yemen, although they declined to provide details.
The captured weapons included surface-to-air missiles used to shoot down civilian and military aircraft, C4 military-grade explosives, 122-millimeter shells, rocket-propelled grenades and bomb-making equipment, including electronic circuits, remote triggers and other hand-held explosives, the statement said.
If the weapons turn out to include the Iranian-made Misagh-2 surface-to-air missile, as cited in the reports from Yemen, it would reflect a significant increase in lethality for the insurgents.
For years, Yemen has accused Iran of supporting the Houthi rebels, who fought an intermittent guerrilla war against the Yemeni government from 2004 to 2010. Those accusations including claims of intercepted weapons shipments often lacked evidence and, up until about a year ago, routinely were dismissed as propaganda.
But after the uprising in Yemen in 2011, the Houthi movement expanded from its base in the northwest now a de facto Houthi statelet across the country. It has benefited from widespread dissatisfaction with both Yemens government and the local equivalent of the Muslim Brotherhood, known as Islah.
By last spring, American military and intelligence officials described what they viewed as a widening effort to extend Iranian influence across the greater Middle East. Iranian smugglers backed by the Quds Force, an elite international operations unit within Irans Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, had begun shipping AK-47s, rocket-propelled grenades and other arms to replace older weapons used by the rebels, American officials said last year.

U.S. Weighs Base for Spy Drones in North Africa
New York Times ^ | January 28, 2013 | ERIC SCHMITT
Posted on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 12:08:37 AM by Seizethecarp
The United States military is preparing to establish a drone base in northwest Africa so that it can increase surveillance missions on the local affiliate of Al Qaeda and other Islamist extremist groups that American and other Western officials say pose a growing menace to the region.
For now, officials say they envision flying only unarmed surveillance drones from the base, though they have not ruled out conducting missile strikes at some point if the threat worsens.
If the base is approved, the most likely location for it would be in Niger, a largely desert nation on the eastern border of Mali. The American militarys Africa Command, or Africom, is also discussing options for the base with other countries in the region, including Burkina Faso, officials said.
The immediate impetus for a drone base in the region is to provide surveillance assistance to the French-led operation in Mali. This is directly related to the Mali mission, but it could also give Africom a more enduring presence for I.S.R., one American military official said Sunday, referring to intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
The State Department has been extraordinarily wary of allowing drones to operate in the region, fearful of criticism that the United States is trying to militarize parts of Africa as it steps up its campaign to hunt down Qaeda-linked extremists in Somalia, as well as those responsible for the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

Iranian Book Celebrating Suicide Bombers Found in Arizona Desert

EXCLUSIVE: A book celebrating suicide bombers has been found in the Arizona desert just north of the U.S.- Mexican border, authorities tell Fox News.
The book, “In Memory of Our Martyrs,” was spotted Tuesday by a U.S. Border Patrol agent out of the Casa Grande substation who was patrolling a route known for smuggling illegal immigrants and drugs.
Published in Iran, it consists of short biographies of Islamic suicide bombers and other Islamic militants who died carrying out attacks.
According to internal U.S. Customs and Border Protection documents, “The book also includes letters from suicide attackers to their families, as well as some of their last wills and testaments.” Each biographical page contains “the terrorist’s name, date of death, and how they died.”
Agents also say that the book appears to have been exposed to weather in the desert “for at least several days or weeks.”
Authorities told Fox News that there were no people in the area at the time the book was found, and no arrests have been made in connection with it.
“At this time, DHS does not have any credible information on terrorist groups operating along the Southwest border,” a Department of Homeland Security official said in a statement.

Hughes Drops Jews
Free Beacon ^ | 1/29/13 | staff

The New Republic has quietly dropped at least five prominent Jewish writers from its masthead in a move that may signal the publications continued drift away from a staunchly pro-Israel standpoint.
The magazine has launched an aggressive new editorial direction under the ownership of wealthy socialite Chris Hughes, who is best known for sharing a room with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg at Harvard University.
The names of several prominent Jewish writers from both the left and right of the political spectrum were dropped from TNRs masthead in the latest issue.
They include: Daily Beast reporter Eli Lake, longtime TNR columnist James Kirchick, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer, and onetime senior editor Lawrence Kaplan. Complicating the picture, former TNR editor Peter Beinart was also dropped from the masthead. Beinart is the publisher of Open Zion, an anti-Zionist Daily Beast blog sponsored by the New America Foundation.
Each of these writers had been well-respected longtime contributors to the magazine and frequently wrote about Israel and the Middle East.

Will you please add me to this ping list?
Thanks.
The World Government is neo-feudalist/fascist in nature, but not nearly powerful enough to police the population of the entire globe, hence the big push to a) kill babies b) disarm the U.S. and subject us to genocide/FEMA camps, c) promote and use islam as a means of controlling the behavior of the serfs at the individual and village level, as islam and fascism are kissing cousins.
Please add me to your ping list. Thanks!
U.S. ´backed plan to launch chemical weapon attack on Syria and blame it on Assad´s regime´

Leaked emails have allegedly proved that the White House gave the green light to a chemical weapons attack in Syria that could be blamed on Assad´s regime and in turn, spur international military action in the devastated country. A report released on Monday contains an email exchange between two senior officials at British-based contractor Britam Defence where a scheme ´approved by Washington´ is outlined explaining that Qatar would fund rebel forces in Syria to use chemical weapons. Barack Obama made it clear to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad last month that the U.S. would not tolerate Syria using chemical weapons against

IF true...
Was that its like Fast and Furious except with even MORE murder!
Leftist Goals always end in several different mass graves.
Wow!
Do the Republicans read? Are they going along with chemical attack false flags now? What other false flags has our government been up to? I mean besides the flase flag when Obama blamed a youtube video (free speech) for killing our ambassador.
Maybe the question should be, “Do the republicans care?”
The back stiry on this is that the main info was first cited by InfoWars. I read all the links and it sure looks legit to me. Ihave beverbeen ahones fan, but even jones isn’t always a hundred percent wrong or just about the hype. Corsi and wnd are just as bad but they are allowed to stand. I honestly can’t see all that much difference between them.
Try this again minus the typos. I need sustenance. Immediately.

It’s like any other media source - hit and miss. They are all unprofessional now. Sometimes they are manipulating with outright fabrication or half truths and sometimes they are telling the truth.
It’s really sad that all the media has sunk to the lowest common denominator. Ignorance is not bliss.
I noticed that Drudge is using Alex Jones now for some subjects he’s reporting on. He does a good job of reporting on tsa abuse, for example.
I listen to Alex everyday now. I can’t stomach the “this is just a bad administration” mindset of the mainstream talk shows. I haven’t watched FOX news for more than five minutes in more than two years. I tune into Beck in the morning and will listen if he’s being serious and it’s not the clown posse trio show but even Beck doesn’t really seem to grasp the whole picture. Say what you will about Alex Jones, but he’s the only one who is saying what is truly happening.
If someone doesn’t “get it” at this stage of the game, they are either in deep denial or have cognitive issues.
“IF true...”
I wouldn’t put it past Barry the Jew hater. There isn’t a low he isn’t willing to sink to.
