ALBANY Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signed into law on Tuesday a sweeping package of gun control measures, significantly expanding a ban on assault weapons and making New York the first state to change its laws in response to the mass shooting at a Connecticut elementary school.
Mr. Cuomo signed the bill less than an hour after the State Assembly approved the legislation on a 104-to-43 vote. The State Senate approved the measure, 43 to 18, on Monday night.
The expanded ban on assault weapons broadens the definition of such weapons, banning semiautomatic pistols and rifles with detachable magazines and one military-style feature, as well as semiautomatic shotguns with one military-style feature. New Yorkers who already own such guns can keep them but will be required to register them with the state.

I had to read that a couple of times. So let me get this straight, by moving people around we could shift the balance of power?
In business getting an increasingly larger share of a decreasing market is a recipe for bankruptcy. Moving people around is not the answer. Obama got 51% of the electorate to vote for him. The bigger question is do we keep driving people away because they do not believe exactly what we do or do we make some concession to grow the party? Moving people around is math for the unskewed poll crowd. Sorry but your conclusion makes no sense to me.
if conservatives moved to the swing states like VA, NC, FL, OH and also NM CO then the left could not win due to them not having enough electoral votes from those states
I understood what you are saying, I am telling you the math does not work. On e you look at actual final numbers, the election was not close.
I’m sure Governor Cuomo thinks he put himself at the top of the 2016 presidential sweepstakes with this move. A ton of low information voters are probably impressed with the buffoon now.

What’s the news here? NY people gave up their right to self-defense when they let Kitty Genovese die in broad daylight in 1964. People there are more interested in government programs than self-defense. It won’t be a bang, but a whimper from Buffalo to NYC.
Cuomo speaks for the people of NY: they really don’t believe in self-defense. They believe in calling 911.
Unbelievably stupid. The new laws make absolutely no sense.
Are tards running the whole state now?
Where does the M1 Garand and its 8 round clips fit in this ban?
I suppose New Yaaawkers are going to have to load 7 in their en-blocs.
Whoops, 8 loaded - I miss counted.
