Obama on Congress:‘They Order Me to Spend’ By Fred Lucas January 14, 2013
(CNSNews.com) – Explaining why he has no choice but to demand an increase in the legal limit on the national debt, President Barack Obama said at a Monday press conference that Congress orders him to spend money.
“This is a matter of Congress authorizes spending,” Obama said.
“They order me to spend," he said. "They tell me: ‘You need to fund our Defense Department at such-and-such a level. You need to send Social Security checks. You need to make sure that you are paying to care for our veterans.’ They lay all this out for me, and--because they have the spending power--and so I am required by law to go ahead and pay these bills.”
The current debt ceiling is $16.394 trillion, a number that President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner agreed to in August 2011, when they increased the previous limit by $2.4 trillion. The Constitution gives Congress the power to borrow money. So, the president cannot increase the debt of the United States unless Congress enacts legislation authorizing him to do so.
“Separately, they also have to authorize a raising of the debt ceiling in order to make sure that those bills are paid,” said Obama. “And so what Congress can’t do is tell me to spend X and then say, but we’re not going to give you the authority to go ahead and pay the bills.”

"They" is the Congresses of about 60 years ago that indexed entitlements, federal pay, and federal retirement benefits. The growth sectors of the budget are on autopilot. What Obama is saying is that he will attempt to block the current Congress from enacting a course correction.
The debt ceiling statute is also the work of a long-ago "they." Indexation is the gas peddle. The debt ceiling is a brake. Both are the work of Congresses long gone. There is no logical reason to assign a greater weight to the one over the other.
I was listening to a list of things that received money in the recent Hurricane relief bill that have absolutely nothing to do with hurricane relief, and I have to say, HEY!, our Congressmen are all absolute idiots, or they are all paid or threatened to keep their mouths shut about the garbage written into spending bills, or they are complicit with the president in this spending.

In Stanley Kurtz' book, Radical-in-Chief, he researched Obama's job history. Turns out every one of Obama's previous superiors agreed -- from Alinsky's protege' (who hired him as a community organizer) to Harry Reid. They all said that Obama left his current employment in search of more "power".
His mindset is that "power" is conferred, not earned. As a consequence, he has no concept of achieving things thru persuasion or leadership, only thru diktat.
Now that he holds the most powerful office in the free world, he expects his orders to be obeyed -- without question.

When Obama kept saying that R’s are holding a gun to the head of America, he was saying in code-speak: Boehner, remember what we told you back in September of 2008? You do what you’re told, or BANG! Soros and his communist-Islamist alliance are going to make another run on the bank and collapse the entire world economy.”
When he says R’s better act quick, he’s saying the gun is cocked and the R’s will all either bend over and pull their pants down, or else the gun will go off.
But it’s going to go off whether or not they rape the Congress-critters first. They’ve always intended for the gun to go off; Soros told both Obama and Hillary that during the 2008 primary. These America-haters that Obama has surrounded himself with his entire life just wanted to hear America beg and watch them grovel first.
Get a spine, Congress! They’re going to destroy America regardless of what you do so you may as well stand up like men and at least let America die with her head held high, as she’s pulled into the miry pit by the deadweight millstones around our necks. They’re going to order the US military to turn against the American people no matter what anybody does so we may as well start this process BEFORE they try to grab our guns.
If/when Obama issues an executive order regarding firearms, EVERY GUN OWNER IN THIS COUNTRY WILL HAVE STANDING TO CHALLENGE OBAMA’S ELIGIBILITY - after first challenging Sotomayor and Kagan’s Constitutional ability to be on the Supreme Court. If SCOTUS has refused to take up this issue because they are afraid of riots by Chicago Blacks wielding baseball bats, then they better think long and hard about flipping the bird at MILLIONS of Americans in urban as well as rural areas, holding guns that will have to be pried away from their cold dead hands AFTER they’ve shot every last bullet they have.
Gun owners should be drawing up their lawsuits right now, and the second Obama makes a move, the courts need to be inundated with MILLIONS of lawsuits challenging Obama’s Constitutional ability to “act as President”, including issuing executive orders and appointing Supreme Court justices. And they better be ready to disqualify Joe Biden too - for giving material aid and comfort to the Obama he knew to be a foreign enemy combatant, which is treason, a capital crime. Every Congress-critter needs to be among the millions who file these lawsuits.
They should all do this anyway, since the HI state registrar has issued a certified letter of verification to AZ SOS Ken Bennett, confirming that Obama’s HI BC is legally non-valid and the forged short-form and long-form are to hide that fact. The BC#’s that have been manipulated point to the almost certain fact that the HDOH was forced to create a totally false BC for Obama because law enforcement said Obama’s life would be in danger if the HDOH didn’t lie to the American public.
Congress needs to immediately declare that the only ammunition the federal government is allowed to have is for the military in foreign theaters. No secret service, no FBI, no CIA, no bodyguards, no TSA, no DHS. The feds cannot pay one red cent for weapons or ammunition on US soil and must get rid of all the weapons and ammunition they have on US soil - because they are the most untrustworthy crooks in this country, and the leader of them all refused to allow a background check.
And in the meantime, we need to do to all these crooks what was done to Ben Nelson - the only recourse these folks think we should have, to hold our government accountable. Boo them every time they set foot in public to eat or do anything else. Let them feel the mood of the American public.

In a way he has a point. Boehner and co. do not have to approve of continuing resolutions which funds Obamacare and stimulous spending.
Obama’s very select few examples of what Congress “orders him to pay” are the exact items he threatens to NOT support if he doesn’t get his way.
