January 11, 2013 Sotomayor On Role Affirmative Action Played In Her Life
In her first broadcast interview, Justice Sonia Sotomayor tells Scott Pelley how affirmative action affected her life leading up to her appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court. Pelley's profile of the Supreme Court's first Hispanic justice will be broadcast on 60 Minutes Sunday, Jan. 13 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Sotomayor says that the affirmative action in the U.S. today is different than when she was in school and would not discuss the affirmative action case currently before the court. "But I do know that, for me, it was a door-opener that changed the course of my life," she tells Pelley.
Affirmative action played a role in her admittance to Princeton, she recalls, and she remembers it drawing the scrutiny of an adult at her Catholic school in the Bronx. "The first day I received in high school a card from Princeton telling me that it was possible that I was going to get in, I was stopped by the school nurse and asked why I was sent a possible and the number one and the number two in the class were not," she recalls. "Now I didn't know about affirmative action.
But from the tone of her question I understood that she thought there was something wrong with them looking at me and not looking at those other two students," says Sotomayor. The same is true today she says.
"You can't be a minority in this society without having someone express disapproval about affirmative action."

Yes even a hotel maid like unwise latina Sotomayor can be hustled onto the SCOTUS. What those cretins did to a very qualified candidate like the late Robert Bork was despicable.
Sotomayor is living proof that if you go to college not knowing anything, you’ll more than likely graduate still not knowing anything. At least that good old “affirmative action” got her a lifetime gig on the Supreme Court. She’s got it made in the land of free stuff.
When one uses Affirmative Action it shows your one of the slow ones.
I do not object to affirmative action; I object to Sotomayor.

OK, back in the early 80’s Michelle Rodgerson (or whatever her name was before she became Obama/Soetero’s `beard’) was lying in bed wide awake in the small hours, wondering about her future, que sera sera sera and all that good stuff, thinking about turning in her journal for her senior thesis, when suddenly there’s the blinding flash of light, a stench of sulfur and sure enough, standing at the foot of her bed, Yup—it’s Lucifer. Of course he wants her soul.
(whew, long sentence!)
Beelzeebub explains that he can give her fame, wealth, a passing grade on her diary/thesis, anything she wants, and tells her that she already owes him for getting her into Princeton.
She replies that it really isn’t that hard for colored girls with a pulse to get into Princeton, and he concedes this,
so then Micky says, “What do I have to do in return for all this, Red Devil?”
And Satan hissed back, “I’ll want your immortal soul in Hell for eternity, with you roasting slowly on a spit forever.
“Oh, and you will carry around a huge `caboose’ for the rest of your life.”
She scratched her itchy scalp, rolled her eyes and finally said, “OK, what’s the catch?”
They preach fairness and justice. AA is inherently unfair and unjust.
Funny stuff!!!
And as the country slides closer and closer to the cliff, we start to understand why - the Affirmative Action generation is coming of age and taking over......
She’s proud of being inferior.
In other words affirmative discrimination promoted a liberal hack over someone more qualified. Another reason to get rid of it.
The story of the person who did not get accepted to Princeton because she did would be much more interesting than the story of this “wise latina” token.
