Prayer breakfast calls on president to act 'for the people'
Barack Obama is an appointed minister of God to do what is good, according to the prayer of Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell at the Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast held at the Richmond, Va., convention center.
The annual breakfast yesterday drew more than 1,000 people, including many of the states leaders. In addition to McDonnell, others offering prayers included Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, House Speaker William Howell and state Democrat Chairwoman Charniele Herring.
McDonnell asked, during his prayer for Obama, that God give him the wisdom of Solomon.
The opening prayer was delivered by the mayor of Richmond, Dwight C. Jones, a Democrat. Jones, an African-American, sat next to Cuccinelli, a tea party favorite who currently is running for governor to replace McDonnell.
All those at the head table sat quietly as McDonnell prayed for Obama and his family. McDonnell prayed for Obamas wife Michelle and his two girls to have normalcy. For Obamas duties of office, the governor prayed that he would get done what is right and just for the people.
Speaking of all elected officials in the nation including himself, the governor asked God that all do what is right in the eyes of God.
It is not the first time McDonnell has advocated prayer for Obama.
Early in 2012, he told a Boy Scout troop to pray for Mr. Obama, because hes got a lot of hard decisions to make.
That request came as the troop was on a tour of the

You pray to Paul?
Im just telling you what the Bible says. If you dont believe it, thats your deal.
A person doesn't believe in the Bible unless they accept Paul is God?
You quoted a letter from Paul, and said it was from God. And I asked you if you pray to Paul.
Wha????
Ole Bob has jumped the shark....now officially part of he GOPe...
Has lost me BIg time....
Then he should have SAID that!!!
A minister of God just like the Assyrians were for the Northern Kingdom of Israel. This country’s people are so ungodly that He has had enough so Obama & Co. are the just desserts.
It could still be turned around: 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name...”
And that’s just addressed to His people. The folks that refuse to be associated with God can continue their journey.
“Not a Minister of God, but a minister from God, not to do good, but to do evil to this unrepentant Nation.”
What AiI wrote.
You sound like you are a Presbyterian who believes in that "predestination" stuff and probably think it was part of God's master plan from the beginning of time to make Obama president or something. We will have to disagree. I believe that mankind has free will. God allows people to do evil things but certainly does NOT put them in the position to do so. People do that through their actions. A just and loving God would NEVER "put Obama in charge of America".
“Obummer is certainly NOT a minister and we do need to pray for him.” (from my earlier comment)
I do pray for our leaders, even obummer.I know that our leaders are appointed by God over us and we must pray for them, even when they are not Christian, not godly, not good, not liked.
What... to split the nation in half?
I believe the African communist scumbag has done that just fine.
You don’t have to believe the Bible. It’s your life. If it doesn’t say what you want to hear, write your own. I didn’t write it. Don’t blame me.
By the way, I knew McDonnell was a little bit odd, but is he, like, going silly?
Yes. All the lefties do.
Have you ever seen this? A liberal Democrat moviemaker fantasizes through his film:
Jesus rebuke Obama. I will be happy to pray for him.

It's clear you like standing in God's place giving orders in His Name a lot more than answering simple questions.
In fact, you indicate that in your world anyone who questions you rejects God's Word.
I'm just going to take it for granted that you think Paul is God, since you said his letter to the church is an order from God, and as far as I can tell, God didn't write it, Paul did. You said Paul's words are God's words. That would make Paul God.
I think Paul was a man. He says he's a man, and a servant of God in Romans 1, not God Himself. Unless the Bible is lying, I would say the letter from Paul to the church in Rome, telling them to be obedient to Roman authorities, was written by a man.
Something that might be helpful to you, many Bibles use red letters when they print the words God actually speaks.
If you'll take another look, you'll see Paul's words are all printed in black.
How is it that you know this Dr.?
IMO, your have the simplest and most accurate correction to the man's prayer.
“I want to see the actual text of the prayer.”
Don’t be silly. Knee-jerk reactions are so much more fun!
A just God would not put Obama in charge of America? Do you really want to talk about justice and what this country deserves? And no I am not Presbyterian but I do not believe anything happens outside the will of God. He was not surprised by the election results nor was He waiting on pins and needles to see whom we would elect.
But before you talk about justice think about millions of children slaughtered in the womb, the river of filth that is our popular culture and the eviction of God from public life, as well as the public embracement and celebration of everything God calls evil. Then tell me what America justly deserves.....
Luckily for you this thread is in the news forum. If you post a mind-reading statement like this on the Religion Forum you will rightly be slapped down HARD!
How dare you tell Pappy what he believes!
I believe that the New Testament is the Word of God from Matthew to Revelation and everything in between. Saul/Paul was a sinner just like all the rest of humanity.
