Port Authority cop Jeffrey Haner was busted on possession of two illegal assault weapons, including the same type of Bushmaster rifle used in the Newtown massacre, authorities said.
Ramsey, NJ, police said they took a total of 10 weapons from Haner after his wife asked for a temporary restraining order.
The 41-year-old cop, who works at the George Washington Bridge and made $175,000 last year, also had eight legal guns, including two handguns, Ramsey police said.
But Haner’s .223-caliber Bushmaster and Chinese-made Norinco rifle were fitted with accessories including flash suppressors that made them illegal assault weapons under New Jersey law, police said.
He was charged on Dec. 21 with two counts of possessing an assault weapon without a permit, police said. The maximum penalty for each charge is five years in prison.

And even though the Bushmaster was at Sandy Hook it was not used just slung over. He used hand guns, right?

Don’t feel sorry for this donut eater. He’d be more them happy to enforce the same law that just got him.
Exactly and all the media is saying was he had an assault rifle or used one which was wrong I think.
Good. I hope they toss his cop ass into prison for the maximum term. The people who enforce these ridiculous, unconstitutional laws need to start getting the same penalties Joe Citizen would.

No. He used the Bushmaster to kill everyone. He only used the handgun to commit suicide.
Medical examiner says all fatalities were .223, handguns not used. He had a shotgun in his trunk. This is Official Reality, we may have seen other things.
I saw a photo of the Bushmaster still in the trunk.
He did not use the rifle only pistols.

This is a stupid A** law. Why the people of NY/NJ put up with this crap I will never understand.
But now a question. Why did the wife ask for a TRO? Did she has a valid reason for asking for one or was this just an automatic request from the lawyer? If no reason and the lawyer just does this automatically, someone needs to introduce him to the fat end of a Louisville slugger.
This TRO business is crap to someone who owns firearms. Just because the wife wants to get even or the lawyer is too eager to show he is working, someone’s firearms collections can be “stolen” and it could be months, maybe years before it is returned. And in what condition(remember New Orleans?)

I saw a Saiga being taken out of the trunk.
That was a shotgun in the trunk, watch the video of them unloading the shells out of it.
No. The coroner said all of the dead were killed with the Bushmaster. The handgun was used only for the suicide. Also, the police chief said the same. The children all had from three to eleven wounds per....all by the Bushmaster. Only one shot was from the Bushmaster and it was the suicide shot. This has to be easy to research. It was even in my local san antonio paper. Though common sense tells you...three to eleven shots per body...that was not a handgun. That was the bushmaster.
