Yep, they are getting out while the getting is good. It’s too bad that so many of the “commoners” can’t do the same because they are tied down by mortgages, jobs or family ties.

Now if only some Texas corporations would make some moves to protect America jobs, we’d have the basis for a rejuvinated GOP in the makings.

Bring back US jobs.

Bump.

The locals may find that there are no jobs before long. If that happens they will lose their mortgage. So I guess they will sleep on the street with their other family members

Just leave

When I left California seven years ago, I left behind the place of my birth, my entire immediate and extended family, and every friend I'd ever known. I sold our house, shut down our very successful business, and moved everything to Texas.

Yes, it took courage, but given the future my kids were facing in California, I did it without losing a minute of sleep. Anyone can leave the state if they've got a strong enough purpose to do so.

You can buy two or three nice houses in Texas for what your home in California costs. And Texas is one of the few places that still has jobs and an economy.

Born an raised here, half my family here, but went to Texas to keep my job.

I love the memory of the state I grew up in, which is not the state that exists now. My feelings about going back are similar to those of an Iranian woman I encountered, who told me that she would love to go back to Iran--but not as it exists now.

I went back to visit family about 3 years ago. My impression is that CA is looking very run-down. All I can surmise is that the government is so big and bloated that the monies which should be going towards roads, bridges, and parks is instead going to line the pockets of bureaucrats.

RIP, CA. The Golden State is now the Tarnished State.
