Hypocrisy. It’s what the Left eats for dinner.

How can they even talk in terms of “cutting the budget” when there hasn’t been one passed since Obama took office?

Most of what they are talking about are cuts in spending increases, nothing as deaconian as a roll back of total spending to the levels of the Clinton days.

Morning AB, All,

....Merry Christmas to all!

What a weekend! Daughter/granddaughter been here Friday night, Saturday night. Had our “Christmas” dinner Friday, opened gifts Saturday morning, went to church Saturday where I sang in choir.

After drove down to Ocean City Merryland where we went to the Festival of Lights. Met two nieces there, went out to dinner after.

Played games, sang songs, laughed and...

...folks I grabbed on to my precious granddaughter, just turned nine years old, and hugged her for a full ten minutes, both of us just hugging tight, silent, eyes clenched tight. If love could pour out of a body into another you can believe I pushed tons of love out of me into my beloved grandchild and I prayed the entire mass, thanking God for giving her to me and to please keep her safe.

I’m sure across the fruited plains grandparents are hugging their descendants with the same force of love.

We never mention Newtown, save in passing. Kaitlyn I must suppose knows all about it. In fact, her school had a lock down drill Tuesday after the shooting, so disconcerting with the timing that the school had to call all parents and swear the practice drill had nothing to do with Newtown. I’m not sure I believe it.

But Kaitlyn tells us in great detail how the classroom doors are now locked at all times, how she learned to dive beneath her desk and shrivel up as small as possible.

Sure, she knows about Newtown.

Neither daughter or I could talk about it with her without sobs so we just avoided the subject.

At a quiet moment daughter and I discuss these shootings. she is, as you might imagine, concerned.

“Melissa, Friday a week ago 20 kids got shot at an elementary school. It was horrible. We are all aggrieved. And this Christmas 20 parents will suffer unimaginable loss.”

I took a breath as we both tried to imagine Christmas morning for the parents of those precious children and we had to pause for our mental pain.

“But this Christmas some 90 million parents will wake up and have healthy, happy children running to their gifts under the tree. Because while these tragedies happen (I then recited stats about the 1929 school mass murder, the biggest ones being in China), America is still a great place to raise a child. Not to belittle the loss of those children, but we need to keep our perspective. Most of all , we need TO NOT LET THE POLITICIANS PASS A BUNCH OF STUPID LAWS THAT WILL ONLY HURT US AND NOT SAVE A SINGLE CHILD.”

Daughter agreed and she was shocked to learn about that 1929 school massacre involving bombs or firecrackers. This country’s media wants us to believe this sort of thing only happens in America.

I got a picture to share with you guys, best picture I’ve ever managed to get in my life.

Will put it up second or third page in thread so keep commenting so I can post it.

I will also tell story behind it and....

....you will thank me very much.

Hillary's moment has come and gone. A woman her age who has fallen down and is unable to testify? Her health and mental capacity are in play now. In 3 years the Progresso Dems will show commercials of Paul Ryan pushing Hillary in a wheel chair over the cliff.

Do we need another Old White Person running the country, after 4 years of the Coolest Kid In Junior High? No, Hillary is done, and another minority will demand their turn in the saddle. The Media just has to sell it.

Everyone over 65 is now at risk. Will we get the treatment for what ails us or will we be told to take a pill.

As we sign up for Medicare, our names will go directly to the IPAB computer matrix, the Death Panel, and that will be that. Hopefully, the quality of the pain pills will improve because....”Treatment? What treatment? Haha!”

Well, if you are a white American that will be that. The multicultees will (at first) get some sort of special attention because their votes are reliably communist.

But in due time “votes” will no longer be required and then the ruling Left will begin eating one another as they always do—and the Elites will increasingly more tightly circle themselves behind barbed wire.

This is how it ALWAYS goes with communist states. They find reasons to exterminate or permanently imprison opposition and then turn on themselves. Our geat grandchildren need to be ready when the time comes. That wall WILL come down. It always does.

It still took a World War to set things right and America lucked out by being the only unscathed power after it was over.

God's hand played a big part in that. Luck, meh, not so much.

Fast forward to today, we are mightily trying God's patience 24/7. I think we're on the edge. NOT a good place to be.

I just finished reading Alas Babylon! while remembering what my world was like in 1959. MAD was a distinct daily threat, and the fear of nuclear strike from the USSR was very real!
But at the same time people worked. There was no Great Society to cater to the lazy. Our country’s future is definitely as or more precarious today than it was fifty years ago.

PS: Hoover and Depression will always be connected in the majority of people’s minds. Roosevelt, and now Obama, will never be blamed for doing things that extended a financial crash.
Bush will ALWAYS be blamed. Truth is what the media says it is.

FNS

Kirstin P: Republicans are being irresponsible by not approving Boehner’s or Obama’s proposals.

Laura I: Republicans lost this election. They lost House seats. They lost Senate seats. They lost the White House.

Juan W: I think the Boehner plan would have passed, if Boehner had brought it up for a vote. ... Boehner looks weaker than ever now.

Bill K: Let the House vote. [Thinks Boehner will retain speakership, no matter what happens.]

Isn’t this testimony to the depth and extent of the failure of liberalism over the course of our lives.

When we were in grade school we were taught to duck and cover so as to avoid getting “hit” by a Soviet ICBM. Now, our grade schools must train current students in how to survive attacks from crazed alumni.

I never thought I’d live to say that I “miss” the Cold War. Turns out, they were the salad days of our lives.

I agree with you about Hillary. She is yesterday’s feminist, who will be OLD in 2016. Talk about her coronation is as much a feint as the talk was about Susan Rice for SoS. I believe that Obama always wanted Kerry in that spot, but he couldn’t just go for the rich white guy off the mark.

My GP doctor quit last month. Going to work directly for a hospital doing emergency room stuff. Hospital will cover all malpractice and legal issues, and he’ll get a guaranteed paycheck every week.

And the patients of this young, smart, hard-working family doctor?

Well, I don’t blame him... But it really messes me up, as my kids and I have chronic medical conditions.

I’m a diabetic on insulin. Type 1 not 2. My endocrinologist told me last week he might have to withdraw from Tricare*, due to government not paying out.

I’m screwed. Thank you, fellow dumb a$$ citizens!

*Tricare isn’t welfare. I worked my buns off for it. It, along with military retirement, is supposed to be “deferred” compensation.

I thought the NRA tactic of throwing the issue back at the politicos-who are out and about being the idiots they are as if only THEY can solve these sorts of matters-to be pure genius.

LaPierre said to hire an armed guard at every school.

Of course, that’s not likely, if not impossible.

BUT....

heh.....

Let the politicians go out and defend against this suggestion. Imagine it now....

Joe Blow politico got the microphone. He rails on and on about the need for gun control, perhaps the very, very stupid “assault weapons” ban. Someone shouts out that why don’t we get armed guards in all schools.

What’s the politician going to say?

“It’s just too expensive to hire guards for every school in America,” he might respond.

Heh.

What a perfectly horrible answer that would be. Don’t this guy care about our children?

It was genius cause Americans know those politicians spend money for all kinds of stupid stuff. Should they collectively deny funds for guards at schools they will make Americans all across the fruited plains angry as hell.

Kudos to the NRA for doing what the pubs do not, or simply can not, do. Which is to use the talk and sight bytes to affect political thinking across the fruited plains.

So since the politicos don’t want to walk into that trap they just might shut up about gun control.

Good strategy.

Watch out, it may be one of those Castro brothers from San Antonio. Hey, we’ve already had a Hussein in the White House, why not a Castro?

Now, is there any democrat out there named Mao or Ho Chi Min?

Might as well keep putting people in the White House who are named after our enemies, right?

Oh my goodness PB you are so right.

The irony is that last night with nieces, daughter and various in-laws we discussed just that very issue.

We talked about how we used to have air raids (yes, I remember these) and yeah, we dove under our desks too.

I also remember being very scared. I was around Kaitlyn’s age when I was going through that trend.

And, indeed, as you say, here we are again.

I got a little bit of a broken heart that granddaughter must live with this but so it is.

A new stratosphere in moral equivalency has been reached, I suppose.

And how about the Demoviks? What would Fox Hack Girl say about them?
