I didn’t think you could have Asphalt rifles in NYC,
it’s against the law or something.
And as far as these leos they should maintain a healthy
respect for their fellow citizens and it will be recipricated.

Tried to buy one today but they are all sold out. Did get a nice Sig 226 though.
They can’t have that either.

What for? I thought all guns were already illegal in NYC. Seems the coppers can’t wait to start bustin’ down doors.

I’d like to see someone try to confiscate my guns. It won’t go well for them I guarantee.

They didn’t confiscate anything during the first ban, already-owned guns were grandfathered. I think the writer of this story is confused, as the media always are.

police departments nationwide are thinking of ways to confiscate such weapons. They normally don't let that slip out in these stories.
Anyway, here it is, reported by CBS.

Yeh wondering if they can get early retirement before their first (and likely last) day of confiscation.

It won’t be long before the surviving cops won’t be so eager to try to confiscate someone’s rightfully owned property.

"among the departments considering taking action is the NYPD. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said if Congress were to reinstate the ban, police are wondering whether it will be their responsibility to confiscate them."Other than a few that might be in the hands of organized crime bosses and drug dealers, I can't imagine that there are very many "assault rifles" within the boundaries of New York City.
It's virtually impossible just to get a pistol permit there, unless you're a celebrity with national name recognition.
This would be fun to watch from the other side of the Hudson!
(I have visited that cesspool exactly once since 9/11, and I'm hoping not to go back any time soon.)

I am not sure what I would do.
Right now I don’t even have any supposed “assault rifles”, tho I do have some high capacity pistol mags.
Around 20 years ago, I bought 30 high capacity mags for the HK-91 thinking I would buy one before too long. These were used but look fine and the price was really good. Still haven’t made the purchase but I guess the mags would be good to sell.
Actually there are so many high capacity mags out there that the price might not go up all that much.

Probably not since the ban will likely mirror the prior one which simply banned their sales...........
All those high capacity magazines my buddy bought for investment purposes might just become valuable again.........
