DALLAS - Two women claim they were molested during a body cavity search on the side of the road. They are now suing the Texas Department of Public Safety and its officers.
Angel Hobbs, 38, and her 24-year-old niece, Ashley Hobbs, were stopped along Highway 161 in July.

I too am glad you are not in law enforcement anymore.
300 Million Americans agree.
I did not mean to infer it didn’t happen. Only that it should not have happened.
What kind of police officer with any common sense at all would stick their fingers in people on the side of the road. That’s insane.
thank you - a reasoned response from law enforcement
this nonsense should be reserved for hard drug crimes only and ONLY for perps with a history / priors to warrant it IMO
we're talking two young women with no apparent history in this case - curious if the process is followed, say, if his mom/daughter/wife were to get stopped
Its cretins like this (and their suppportive ilk ...some on this thread) which totally ruin the name of honest LEO's which respect the Bill of Rights and due process
aside, i would nt be surprised in the least to see the TSA begin doing this on a regular basis to the traveling public
Used to be (when we were Peace Officers, not drug Enforcers)NO Bodily Intrusive Searches were allowed unless a hospital did it.
I hope they end up with millions from their lawsuit. I have no respect for the police anymore after my young daughter was pulled over last year for not putting on a turn signal then she was arrested for suspicion of DWI and then strip searched in front of everyone men and women in the jail and humiliated while the police officers were laughing. It was a nightmare for us to try to get her out and has costed us over 11,000.00 so far and still not gone to trial.
GOT to come back to REV911. He said he saw them both throw out cigarettes. Did this particular JBT gather the cigarettes up and charge them with littering? Of course not. I did. Many times. Hate litterbugs.
exactly - as anything having to do with internal body issues should be- particularly females, precisely (as another posted alluded) - cross contamination between the rectum and private areas which could result in serious infection
I would have to go with the latter about the dyke cop heh.
Right, cops never lie or do anything wrong, and are better than the rest of us, even and especially when there is testimony and evidence to the contrary.
I’m guessing you agree that this woman got what she deserved:
In that case, I need to go check my wife for hidden weapons.
“The case is expected to go before a grand jury.”
Next step will be a concerted campaign to discredit the grand jury if they dare to find that the cops did anything wrong.
“...Id give this trooper a rectal exam...”
Best of luck with that...
THE US Supreme Court ruled on this matter - weather an infraction or a known felon - officer safety comes into play...Remember Timothy “Blew up the Federal Building” McVeigh — pulled over for a traffic violation...you assume too much in this instance - and just because some NEWS article writes about - doesn’t mean they have the facts straight — the latest school shooting has PROVEN that as each day they covered a situation they did not fully understand - but rushed to be “THE FIRST” to report it...stop getting emotional over this...wait until the situation is investigated fully.
“Best of luck with that...”
Yes, best to assume the cops acted correctly, even when and especially if video exists to the contrary.
Disparage anyone who believes otherwise, and always “wait {as long as needed} for the facts to come out” when cops act badly.
Because, you know, cops should always be treated with the utmost respect, or it’s “Fine — see how fast they come to YOUR house when you need them!”
*YAWN*
So all of you have went through the police academy, got certified, served out in public, plus did tours over in Iraq and Afghanistan to understand the difference between a known threat and hidden one, know when there is a possible danger and when theirs not...they say a cavity search was performed on the side of the road...you weren’t there - neither was I - and yes, I’m glad I’m not in L.E. because I dealt with close minded idiots like each of you on a daily basis - and it wasn’t worth the time or money to attempt to explain unique situations to people like you - officers are tested on every response...and those of us with that experience have gone else where - and those that are getting recruited presently usually just have a high school education — that’s it...but the citizen complaints - stupid law suits - and citizens saying “I’ll give that officer a rectal exam” - resulted in those of us to leave that profession...and this is what is left! Grow up!
Yes, thank you.
Exactly my point, although not in support of your haughty statements.
Some folks just love the taste of jackboot leather. Their favorite fetish is polishing boot soles with their tongues. It’s related to bondage and S&M. Many of them are attracted to “government service” like Authority Man and the TSA goon above.
